Dane is a stunning blue merle great dane mix. He is about 8 months old and great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He was rescued from a small rural shelter where he was slated to be euthanized due to time and space. He is a chill dude who likes to nap, go on walks and hang with his friends. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Riot is a super sweet 4.5 year, 130 pound big baby & the most sweet, affectionate, friendly, handsome boy. He is super easy as he sleeps most of the time. He wants to be with you & will follow you to whatever room you go into. He gives “gentle kisses” & you can apply “gentle” to anything you tell him. Riot is also great with kids! Riot needs slow intros to other dogs but has happily lived with a 45 pound dog for over a year as well as many female puppy fosters. Riot needs a foster home for a couple months while his pawrent moves. The ideal home would have no dogs, but he could be introduced to one other easy going dog. Hey! I'm Fred. I'm a 2.5 year old Great Dane mix with a fun personality. I'm a bit of a goofball- typical for most Danes. I seem to do good with other dogs and recently became the father to 7 little pups. Thankfully, my parenting days are done and over with. I'm hoping for a loving family to take me home. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
