For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at www.rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications can be found on the home page.Ladies and Gentlemen, the Belle of the Ball is in the Rescue!  I am looking for a home with just humans, not other dogs.  You see, at my age, I’m just not that interested in putting up with a lot of puppy shenanigans, no matter how old the other dogs may be. I like some dogs, tolerate others and some I just detest – I’m a bit persnickety on how I choose my friends.  Other than that, Foster Mom says I’m pretty much the perfect Dane.  I take my time getting out of my crate in the morning and just don’t need to be rushed. Sometimes I just like to hang there for a long while and start my day slowly – the advantages of being a senior!   But once up and about, I am very interactive. I like car rides, I am friendly to family and visitors and I love treats and playing with my squeaky toy.  Foster Mom says I have the cutest front foot hop when I bark sometimes, like I’m giving it a little extra to make sure you heard me. I enjoy walks, but 10-15 minutes is about all I can take and then I need to come home and rest.  I recommend walking me on a Gentle Leader – I’m a pretty big and strong girl.  II can climb stairs – but if I don’t have to, I’d rather not take a full flight – I may whine at the bottom of the stairs and take my sweet time getting to the top.  A short 3 stairs in and out of the house is quite manageable. I chase bunnies.  Foster Family does not have a cat, but I’m pretty sure cats and bunnies look alike, so maybe I should not live in a home with cats.  Or bunnies.  Or dogs.  Just humans, they are the best!  I know no basic commands.  There. I said it.  I’m the Perfect Dane and I don’t respond to anything like Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Nothin. I enjoy wandering around the back yard at my own pace, checking things out.  But being on my bed in the same room with you is even better. I don’t get on furniture, just my beds around the house.  I am very sweet and loving and like to use my paw to get attention – but not roughly.  And sometimes I just shake my head to get your attention.  And if I really need to go out, like NOW, I will bark at your face – seems reasonable if you didn’t pick up on any of my other cues, yes? Come on, you know you want me to live with you!  Fill out an application and ask for me!September 16, 2023, 12:15 am

Story
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at www.rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications can be found on the home page.Hi Everyone in Rescueland – I’m Bruno and I am looking for a home to call mine forever!  I was found as a stray, so my history is a big secret.  But here is what I can tell you about me: I love following my Foster Mom around Everywhere – I even try to leave with her when she goes to work.  That is a good indication I have some separation anxiety – makes sense since I was wandering around looking for my family when a nice lady took me in and got me to this great Rescue.  I whine a bit when she leaves. I Looooove my squeaky ball and will chew it for hours.  When I get to take it outside, I like to throw it up in the air, bury it in the snow, dig it back up and throw it in the air again – it’s one of my favorite games. I enjoy my daily walks and they help even out my energy.  I do well on a leash, but I’m a pretty strong guy.  I do best on a Gentle Leader or Halti.  I have met a number of new people and have not had any issues – I’ve not been introduced to kids yet while being at my Foster Home.  I get along with the 9 yoa Dane I’m living with and met a neighbor dog and that went well, too.  I like to watch Foster Mom make my meals.  If she is taking too long or gets distracted, I redirect her with a very low whine.  I like to go to bed with her, but am usually on my own dog bed by morning. So here is the bottom line:  I am looking for a home where people are home more than they are away – I need to make up for that time I didn’t have any peeps to take care of me.  I really think I would like to live with another dog to pal around with, especially if the peeps need to go out without me.  And if you could take me on lots of walks or hikes, that would just be Super! Please fill out an application and ask for me, Bruno!September 16, 2023, 12:15 am

For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at www.rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications can be found on the home page.Hi – they call me Bubas.  I spent 4 months in a shelter.  They named me Bubas. I checked out of the vet with a clean bill of health, but they recommended some meds for fear and anxiety.  You see, I was found wandering the streets, so I have a very mysterious background – my little secret.  But I can tell you this:  I am scared of a lot of things, especially men and strangers.  Strange Men are the Worst.    I have latched on to Foster Mom and will not leave her side – I don’t growl at Foster Dad anymore, so that’s a bit of progress. I enjoy playing with other dogs and my toys.  I’m good with middle aged to older kids, but the little ones have as much energy as I do and they make me a bit nervous.  Besides, I’m big enough to knock them down when I’m just trying to play with them. I am slowly learning manners and commands and getting better with time.  I’m learning to walk on a harness and leash – regular collars make me alligator roll to get out of them.  I am house trained and crate trained. Here is my idea of the perfect home:  Great Dane Experience, female only household, my people to be home more than not, lots of patience and love, another big dog to pal around with and whom I can learn from,  interest in helping me to learn how to bring out the Awesomeness that is inside of me, and some more love.  Please fill out an application and ask for me.September 16, 2023, 12:15 am

Angle is a 4.5 Year Old Great Dane/Smooth Coated Collie Mix. She loves playing with other dogs and ignores cats, unless they want to play. She loves her people and even though she loves playing with other dogs, she really wants her human all to herself. She is also laid back and enjoys a good cuddle and chill on the couch while catching up on some TV. Angle is crate trained, enjoys toys and completely untrustworthy on free roam with high interest items (this includes expensive items; we don’t know how she knows – but she does!) Phryne is named after the heroine in Miss Fisher mysteries. She has a lot to overcome but like her namesake, she’s going to come out on top. She is deaf, she has some health issues, which she’s not old enough for us to fully test yet, and she may have some vision issues. But rest-assured, she doesn't let this stop her. She is the sweetest of hearts and loves to play when it's playtime and snuggle when it's nap time. Phryne is looking for her forever home where she will be loved unconditionally. If you're interested in adopting Phryne, visit savethegiants.com to submit your application. Even if you can't adopt Phryne, you can still support this sweet girl. Story
Roper was running at large in North Texas and found his happy place at a French Bulldog breeder’s property SO if you see some really big FBs you know who the baby daddy is! He got his name because the sheriff roped him to break up the party. Our founder drove him to Colorado and just because of his size, she said people wouldn’t even make eye contact with her at gas stations, especially when she got him out to tinkle. She felt totally safe with him and so happy to have him along for the ride. He is 80-ish pounds and we think Dane and whatever. Roper has since been neutered, is current on vaccines, and has been working with a trainer on general obedience. His best owner would be alpha and keep up his training. This boy is sweet and athletic - watching him run and play is a beautiful thing. Please email dancingdogrescueco@gmail.com for foster or adoption information.

His current owners have had him since he was 9-10 weeks old and he will be 2 on Aug 18. Around 8 months ago they started having some personality conflicts between him and their older male dog. They’ve been working with a behaviorist for almost that entire time and while both dogs’ individual behavior has improved greatly, the fighting and anxiety those fights have caused are not improving, and at this point they are unlikely to get better. He has gotten along with his doggy sister throughout his life, and has played with other dogs in the past without any issues. However, because of the conflicts with the other dog, Hugo has developed some fear based reactivity to dogs he doesn’t know, so he would likely do best as the only dog, though with a slow introduction, could get along with another dog in the house. He will need someone who is willing to continue his training and behavior modification to address the reactivity. He’s not a super high energy dog, and daily walks are not required so long as he gets sufficient play time in the yard, so the behavior modification can continue over time without having to worry about him reacting to dogs on walks. He would do best in a family where someone works from home, as he just wants to be with his people. He is kennel trained and has been left in his kennel for a full day when necessary without any issues. He has lived with two cats his whole life and has never had any problems with them, so a home with cat siblings would be fine. He's never been around kids, but he's very tolerant and would likely have no problems with them, though he could knock over smaller kids easily so a home with very small children may not be the best fit as he's a young dog and he still sometimes gets overly excited.  Hugo is a big awesome love bug and needs someone who is happy to stay at home with him and work on his reactivity. His perfect home would have a big yard, a mom or dad who works from home and just wants to love him as the only dog while he grows his confidence and gives you all the snuggles and affection you could ask for. A rehoming fee is required and a home visit is preferred. Hugo's current owners love him very much and want to ensure he goes to his forever home where he will be loved and cherished as much as he is now.   If you are interested in meeting Hugo please contact Kaitlyn at  kaitlyn.b.payne@gmail.com  or shoot her a text (please no calls) at 720-988-3802.  September 25, 2023, 7:04 am

Story
Hailing from the dusty trails of Dodge City, Kansas,  I’m Atari, a 7 month old 50+  pound (and growing) Anatolian Shepherd mix. Life wasn't always a rodeo for me – I started out in a shelter, but don't let that fool ya, I'm working hard on my house and crate manners.  I'm a real champ on the leash though. I'm a gal of simple tastes – I love a good chewing bone, playing with my toys and a leisurely stroll through the tumbleweeds. Playing with other dogs and young'uns – both two-legged and four-legged – is my kind of shindig.  I've been known to be a little clumsy. Sometimes it's as if my paws have a mind of their own.  But don't let my wild spirit fool ya – I'm a gentle soul with a heart as big as the prairie sky. I've already mastered the art of "sit" and "lay down," but I'm just getting started. That's where you come in, partner. I need someone who's ready to give me unconditional love and lend me a hand in learning all the ropes. So, if you're lookin' for a trusty companion to ride alongside you through the ups and downs of life, I'm your gal.  Saddle up and let's ride into the sunset of a lifetime together!   **As a reminder, puppies will need lots of time and attention during the first year. Before adopting me, please make sure that you have enough time, energy and commitment to devote to my training. Puppies need a lot of care, so everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out** ##1802418##

Story
Mae Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees/Lab Mix Female 3 years old 93 lbs Hi, I'm Mae! I'm the ultimate companion for all your Colorado adventures, and I’ll curl up with you on the couch for lots of snuggles once the day is over. I’m such a love and I can’t wait to find a forever home of my very own! I’m a calm and easygoing dog with the people I know and love. I enjoy rambling in the snow, camping trips, and hiking, and I'm also great company if you’d rather spend the day reading or working from home. I have an easy going way about me at home and I always love being with my people. I’m also crate-trained, but I don’t usually need one at home because I’m a well-behaved pup. I’m potty trained as well! I do need a home with a fenced yard (and a quieter environment overall) so please no apartments for me please! You can count on me to be your best friend and loyal companion! While I am really comfortable with those I know and love, I can be weary of new people, especially new people that visit my home. I do best being introduced to new people outside of my home (and even then, I need someone to go slow with me and understand that meeting new people isn’t the easiest for me.) I’m a very loyal pup to my humans and that sometimes results in me being overprotective to someone outside of my “trust circle.” I’d do best in a quieter environment where we don’t have a ton of new visitors and my human doesn’t need or expect me to meet new people a lot in general. I also can get really overwhelmed in busy situations out of the home (for example, at a brewery or at a really busy park) and I have nipped at new people in those situations. Therefore, I’ll thrive in a home where my human has a quieter lifestyle overall and can consider what situations I will do best in outside of the home. I am really strong on leash and I am a big girl! So I will need an adopter who is able to manage a big dog on leash when I’m pulling (and a harness is very important for me!) I have done well meeting dogs out and about on walks but I’ve never lived with a dog so I can’t share how I’d do with another dog in the home. I may do best as a solo pup until I’ve had more practice sharing my space with other dogs. I do need a cat free home! And while I am comfortable with kids that I know (and I’ve successfully lived with kids in a previous home!), due to my need to warm up to new people overall, any kids in my forever home should be older and be comfortable meeting me slowly at first until I know and trust them. Are you ready for the most loyal, loving dog friend? Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 - I'm already spayed! All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: Piper is the perfect mix of puppy and young adult mama dog! She warms up right away and seems happy and eager to love her people! She hasn't had any accidents, learned the stairs quickly, and goes into the crate willingly, sleeping through the night. She was okay in the crate while we were at work, but did seem to get bored and may need something to keep her busy. From her Texas foster mama, before coming to Colorado: Piper was dropped off at our local shelter with her newborn puppies because her previous owner "didn't want to deal with puppies. She was on the euthanasia table when our rescue tagged her. She was going to be euthanized because she was dog aggressive. In reality, she was only protective of her puppies. She has been with me since June and is the SWEETEST girl. So eager to please! So athletic!!! She could easily do agility competitions or hike a 14er. She loves to chase balls, run in the yard and curl up for snuggles. She is crate trained and house broken. She needs a little more work on leash training and not jumping to greet her humans. She also chews when she is bored or lonely, so chew bones are needed! She is just a fabulous girl! She is shy when she meets new people for the first time and will bark at other dogs when she is crated if they aren't known to her. She needs a 6ft fence and lots of exercise! She was best friends with another one of my foster failure mommas and they would play fight for hours in the yard! She is a fabulous aunt to my last litter of foster babies (who are with y'all as well!) but we haven't had her around cats. She is great with my children! She would do best with elementary age or older only because she gets excited and would knock down my toddler on accident. I'm hoping for the most special home for her! I love this girl and you can tell she has been treated very roughly before. She is so deserving of an active, loving forever home! She looks like a shepherd mix with a strong and somewhat curly tail, and the softest, dopey ears! She's just big enough to have some height and weight but not too big to take up all the space in bed. She's the first foster we've ever let get on the bed and she loves it, so beware! She'll want to hang out on the couch or in bed with you, but is that really so bad? She knows the "sit" command but would benefit from additional training in recall and not jumping up. She has the energy to leap and bound and play but also settles down with you too--she loves having that constant physical contact though and may ask for it with tiny whines. Other than small whining, she has not been vocal. She would love to play with our dog but he's old and small and not a fan, but she takes the rejection in stride and has shown no aggression or reaction. I think she'd love another dog that wants to play or a human that will stimulate her. Overall, a great addition to any home! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
