Story
DOB: 3/27/2023 Weight: 70-80 lbs.  Alfie is a handsome 3-year-old Great Dane/Poodle mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and in excellent health.   Alfie is a gentle giant who absolutely adores people. He has been raised in a home with four children and is incredibly loving, patient, and affectionate with kids of all ages. He enjoys being close to his family, lounging indoors, and soaking up attention from his favorite humans.   Alfie is crate trained, leash trained, and understands basic household routines. He knows basic commands such as sit and down, and he is eager to please. He is intelligent, affectionate, and thrives when he receives consistent structure and attention. Whether he's spending time with his family or showing off his good manners, Alfie is happiest when he is included in everyday life.   One of Alfie's favorite activities is going for car rides. He happily loads up and enjoys being part of the adventure, whether it's a quick trip around town or a longer outing. He also does exceptionally well when boarded and adjusts comfortably to boarding environments, making him an easy companion for families who travel or occasionally need pet care services.   Alfie currently lives with another large dog and has been successful in that environment. However, he can be selective about other animals and would benefit from slow, proper introductions to any new pets. Because every dog relationship is different, we believe Alfie would thrive either as an only pet receiving all of the attention or in a home with an experienced owner who is willing to carefully manage introductions and ensure a good fit.   Alfie enjoys having space to stretch his long legs, explore, and spend time outdoors, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal for him. While he enjoys outdoor time, he is happiest when he is with his family and included in daily life.   Alfie has so much love to give and deserves a home that understands his needs and can provide the attention, stability, and companionship he craves. In return, he will reward his family with endless loyalty, affection, and plenty of goofy Great Dane charm. He's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and will be tested for heartworms very soon. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply here if you're interested: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Story
Meet Bitsi! Bitsi is a beautiful Great Dane/Catahoula/Mastiff (mom is a Catahoula and dad is a Mastiff/Dane) with a big heart to match her big size. At approximately 1 year old and around 100 pounds, this gentle giant is looking for a loving new home after her owner experienced the heartbreaking loss of her husband and can no longer provide the time and care Bitsi deserves. Despite her impressive size, Bitsi is known for her sweet nature and gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. She is both housebroken and crate trained, and she enjoys relaxing indoors where she has been accustomed to roaming freely throughout the home. Bitsi has no known medical concerns, has never bitten anyone, and is described as a loving companion who simply needs a family that can provide the space, attention, and exercise appropriate for a large-breed dog. She would thrive in a home prepared for a big dog with an even bigger capacity for love. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will happily fill your home—and your heart—Bitsi may be the perfect match for you. ❤️ Bitsi at a Glance: Female Great Dane/Catahoula mix Approximately 1 year old (DOB: 5/4/2025) About 100 lbs Good with dogs, cats, and children Housebroken and crate trained No known medical issues Has never bitten anyone Looking for a fresh start with a family who can give her the life she deserves Could Bitsi be your next adventure buddy and cuddle companion? 🍀 Kiryu: Your Lucky Charm in Giant Form 🍀 They say everyone hopes to find a little luck on St. Patrick’s Day… but what if your luck came in the form of a very handsome, very sweet, very large Great Dane mix named Kiryu? 😍 At 7 years old, Kiryu has officially reached the wonderful stage of life where he’s traded puppy chaos for calm companionship and big-hearted loyalty. He’s a gentle giant with a soft soul who truly loves everyone he meets. Don’t let the size fool you...underneath that big frame is a total sweetheart who just wants to be close to his people. 🐕 Kiryu is the kind of dog who believes the best things in life are simple: • Kind words • Gentle pets • A comfy spot near his favorite human (bonus points if it’s the couch or big, soft bed) 💙 He’s affectionate, loving, and known to lean in close when he gets attention, which is basically his way of giving you a big Kiryu hug. People often call him a “big baby,” and honestly… they’re not wrong. 😊 While some people search for four-leaf clovers, the truth is, finding a dog like Kiryu is the real jackpot. He’s loyal, steady, and ready to share his enormous heart with a family who will love him right back. 💞 So this month, if you’ve been wishing for a little extra luck in your life, Kiryu might just be the lucky charm you’ve been waiting for. ✨ Because the best kind of luck… is finding the dog who’s meant to be yours. 🍀🐾 ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. Story
Sam (FKA Pan) Is Available For Adoption!🩵 This precious dog was abandoned by his owner & very sad when he was rescued. Since being in a loving foster home, he's much happier. He absolutely adores people & has become somewhat of a velcro dog.🥰 His foster mom says, "He has the sweetest habit: he gently hides himself behind the shower curtain and lies there waiting for us to brush our teeth or whatever. It seems like he feels safe there. Such a cutie.💜 He is truly a lovely dog!" Sam (Pan) has been examined by a vet & other than being underweight from not being fed properly, he's a healthy boy! He's been vaccinated, dewormed & heartworm tested negative. He is neutered & he's approx 8 years of age. He's still underweight at 92 lbs, but eating better every day! Sam is the most gentle-natured giant. He's wonderful with all animals & kids. He enjoys being outside with whoever wants to hang out. He likes to play with other dogs too! (See video) He'd make an amazing companion. Please consider giving him a forever where he can live out his golden years surrounded by love.💞 🎶Watch Sam's music video--> https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EZgBNQh5B/ For more videos & pictures, please reach out!
