Location: Lakeville, MN Fluffy is a big lovable bear of a dog. He’s good with dogs and cats. He is mostly house trained, but not a big fan of being kenneled. He walks wonderfully on a leash and doesn’t pull at all. We’re working on learning basic commands like “sit” and “down” because he will paw and jump for attention at the moment. Meet Ranger! He is a big boy looking for a big place to live. Ranger is accustomed to the rural lifestyle and would love to keep it that way! He spent some time living in the city but didn't adjust well due to all the sights and smells being a little overwhelming. He is used to having the space to run around outside. Ranger would do best with an experienced dog owner who is willing to work on his ever-expanding training. He already knows "fetch," "sit," "stay," and "lay down." But he's excited to continue his training as it provides him with enrichment and apt mental stimulation! Ranger can be nervous around new people and animals, so slow introductions are recommended. Ranger has met other dogs and did well with some and not with others. He has met cats and did well but can get a little too excited around them. He has limited experience with children and would likely do best with older children who understand boundaries. With every new animal - especially Ranger - slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are highly recommended. Ask a TCHS staff member for more information on how to ease the transition! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. She’s about three years old, has legs for days, and a nose that works overtime like a tiny detective on an endless case. Kit has gone from “stranger danger” mode to “sniff your hair while you’re watching Netflix” mode, and that’s what we call progress. Her daily routine is very official: three laps around her kennel like an Olympic track star before dinner, followed by stealing the couch or your bed because, honestly, she’s royalty and crates are for peasants. She’s learning that humans = belly rub dispensers, and she’s totally here for it. Kit is a huge fan of dogs, though she sometimes comes in a little too hot on first introductions (think: bossy camp counselor vibes). Cats, chickens, birds, squirrels, or basically anything small and fluffy that isn’t her designated sibling. For those, her prey drive kicks in and—let’s just say—it’s a hard no. I’m a very sweet puppy full of positive energy; I love playing ball in the backyard and going for walks—and I’m very calm when we walk together on the street.
