Story
Well hey there! My name is Dorothy and I’m ready to find my furever family! I came to MN from the south and I quite like it here. I LOVE to be outside, no matter what temperature it is. After playing outside, I’m perfectly content to snuggle up with my blanket and take a nap. My favorite part of living the good life is getting to learn from my canine foster sister. She has really helped me learn the rules of being a dog, so I’d like to find another confident dog in my forever home. Do you have kids? Totally fine by me! I love having little people around and am very respectful of them. I take direction quickly and can’t wait to learn more commands from you! I like to sit back and observe my environment before jumping right in, so I might be a little shy when we first meet. But don’t worry, I’ll be asking for pets from you in no time! I’m ready to meet you if you’re ready to meet me, so fill out an adoption application today! If you would like to meet Dorthy, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Hi! I’m Penelope, my close friends call me P. I’m originally from Alabama but came to Minnesota for a better life. I’m currently living at the Warrior Dog facility but I’d love to find my forever home! Here’s a few things about me: * I have a very sweet and calm personality, but also have a very silly side! * Cuddling and napping are two things I’m really good at.* I’d love if I could find a family that is home a lot or can take me places with them. I don’t like to be alone very much. * I absolutley LOVE being outside! I can bask in the sun for hours. Those are just a few highlights of what life could be like with me. I’d love if you came to meet me so that I can show you what a good girl I am. I hope to see you soon! ***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Penelope is Heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once her treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized. Once her adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Penelope will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Penelope, please fill out an adoption application.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $525To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. He's a great big, lovable goofball who would do great with a family that wants to snuggle and play with him! Logan is a big boy who really likes people. However, due to his size and occasional mouthiness he'd do best in a home with older children. He also isn't super comfortable with small dogs. He would love to have a larger canine friend. He walks well on a leash but is working on some leash reactivity.

Story
Hi! I'm Benedict! I'm from Kentucky. From his foster: Benedict is a sweet pup who loves to get pets! He came in with a lot of mats (all that floof makes it a challenge...he will be getting a groom), but he really seems to enjoy being brushed unless you hit a mat & he is even very tolerant of that! He loves to meet he people! Everyone is his friend! He loves to sit out in the yard & survey his kingdom...although he often sneaks in a nap out there! He does know to do his business outside, but is more trained to a schedule that really making it known that he needs to go out (although he will go the door). For such a big dog, he walks pretty well on a leash. He's not totally sure about getting in the car, but rides nicely once he does. He is still very much a puppy at times! He will be super chill for a while & then just wants to wrassle with my dog. He is a rough & tumbler player, so probably needs a dog friend with a similar play style. He is also still learning what is & is not a chew toy. He really has chewed up much except tissues & a baggie, but has picked up (but not chewed) shoes. Unfortunately he thinks both the resident dog & I are chew toys at times in his puppy energy bursts. Its more mouthiness than biting (playing not aggression) but we are working on giving him space to chill down again & substituting approved chew toys. He ADORES chewing on antlers! For this reason and his size, he's probably not great with really little kids. He really isn't a big barker except once in while if he sees something concerning outside. We leave him out most of the time (he likes to sleep on a couch!) without incident, but do crate him if we go out. He goes in willing for the inducement of a Kong filled with peanut. So if you are looking for a sweet pup to cuddle up with and don't mind helping him learn to be a grown up dog, put in an application & come meet him!

Story
Cloud is 2.5 yo and full of playfulness, energy, and a sense of humor. He loves the snow, lots of attention, walks, and playing with other dogs. He has never met a person he doesn't love. He (ostensibly) knows basic commands and is crate trained. We are heartbroken to have to rehome him. Cloud would do best with an owner or family with either lots of dog experience or the time and resources for more extensive behavioral training. He is amazing meeting strangers and children on a leash, but we have 2 smaller children at home and are pregnant again and he tends to play with our children like they are puppies (lots of mouthing and bumping them over) despite lots of training. We think he would do better in a home with older or no children where an owner can maintain a calmer environment. Cloud also hates having his nails cut and basic grooming (other than being brushed), and our vet has recommended working with a vet behavioralist to address these issues.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
