Rescued from Mississippi after being heartlessly shoved under the fence at a local shelter
Confirmed by an Embark DNA test to be 100% Great Pyrenees
Chelsea embodies all the charming traits of her breed in a petite "pocket Pyr" build at only 48 lbs
While sometimes aloof, Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets, especially kids
Her Pyr-like goofiness provides non-stop laughter and will brighten anyone’s day
Low to medium energy level
Enjoys playful times with her toys and easily self-entertains
A professional nap-taker
True to her breed, Chelsea loves being outdoors in any weather and would thrive with a fenced yard
Enjoys going for walks but occasionally shows typical Pyrenees stubbornness
Rides well in the car but may need a boost to get in
Sleeps through the night in her private, gated space
Dog-friendly—currently lives in a multi-dog household and loves playing with her foster siblings
Like a true Pyrenees, Chelsea can be a bit bossy and protective of her humans, food, and toys around other animals, but with people, she’s a total softie!
Cat-friendly—ignores the cat she has met
Pig-friendly—enjoys spending time with her pig siblings
Due to previous spinal trauma and comprehensive surgery with our friends at VRC Malvern, Chelsea is incontinent. She rocks her doggy diaper and even gets excited to put it on!
Her surgery was a huge success, surpassing all expectations! She’s now finished with specialist appointments and only requires regular wellness visits with her vet.
Living her best, pain-free life—running, jumping, and enjoying every moment like a typical happy pup. She even participated in our annual Miles for Mutts 5K!
