Sazuki is a young husky who is looking for her forever home! Born in January 2025, Sazuki came to Furkids last year with some medical issues after being hit by a car, but is all healed up and ready to meet her new family. Sazuki gets along with other dogs, especially more submissive dogs who can let her be the top dog. Because of her breed and young age, Sazuki will need an adopter who has experience with dogs - she’s not a beginner dog! She knows some commands, but if you know Huskies, you know they can be somewhat stubborn when they want to be. At the end of the day, Sazuki is an affectionate girl who has shown to form strong bonds with people she loves. Sazuki has done well with children in the past, but we don’t recommend her with very young children as she does have some resource guarding tendencies and puppy tendencies (mouthy play) she’s working through. Sazuki has a prey drive, so a home without small animals or cats is a must. Her foster says she gets along great with her older grandchildren, is housetrained, and crate trained with no destructive tendencies while crated. She says Sazuki would thrive in an active home with a consistent routine and plenty of enrichment, with her people being home more often than not. She would especially love a fenced-in yard so she can zoom around freely. Sazuki started out life without any stability, and has some puppy energy and tendencies she’s still working through. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Meet Dutchess, a beautiful 5-year-old husky-chow mix with a gentle heart and an independent spirit. She’s the perfect blend of sweet and a little aloof—happy to be near her people, but also content doing her own thing. Dutchess is very smart, though she can have a bit of a stubborn streak, so she’ll thrive with an adopter who appreciates her independent nature and can provide consistent guidance. She does well with kids and has a calm, easygoing presence in the home. She’s both crate trained and housebroken, making her an easy addition to a structured household. She enjoys her routines and settles in nicely once she feels comfortable. Like many dogs with a strong prey drive, Dutchess loves to chase, so a home without cats is a must. She’s also quite the escape artist and has a true love for running and exploring. Because of this, she will require a home with a secure, tall privacy fence to keep her safe while she enjoys the outdoors. Because of her tendency to bolt, we’re looking for a home without very young or small children—just to ensure everyone stays safe and stress-free.
