Story
I'm Giovanna, but tend to answer to anything that starts with a 'G' sound, most often just Gia. I am a 16 month old, Husky mix, but smaller than many huskies at just 35 pounds. I may gain a bit more weight, as I am still considered a puppy. I am potty trained, and can easily go all night without needing to go for a walk at 2 am, but if there is thunder or loud noises, I may get scared and occasionally have an accident. I was living with a family who moved into a space without a big back yard, and I really do need space to be able to run. I am very quick, love chasing balls, birds, and squirrels, though I don't know why my current foster family laughs when I attempt to climb a tree. The squirrels and family cat seem to do it, so I am not sure why I can't. I have started walking on a front no pull harness, as I started some real training, and it has cut down on my insistence on jumping or chasing after every squirrel, bird or leaf that moves. Walking is great because I get to meet other dogs, and I would love to have another dog to play with without being on a leash. I am currently living with a cat, and I'd like to play, but he has no interest at all and growls at me. I just sit there and watch him, and haven't shown any aggression. I am also in a house with teenagers, and should not be around little kids because at times I do get the zoomies, and could easily knock a child over without intending, too. I used to be in a house where we enjoyed rough housing, and that means sometimes I may get a bit mouthy, have heard that I am a 'resource guarder', but my training sessions are going extremely well, and I've picked up that nipping is not a good idea. I've learned to go to place, am more comfortable in a crate, and understand sit, down, and stay. Playing fetch outside in the yard is probably my favorite game, and I'll fetch balls, or even sticks. I would love to be in a home with adults or older teens, and, if there is another dog, that would be wonderful as I do love attention. I prefer sleeping in my dog bed or on a bed over being in my crate at night. I also love to bring people objects I find around the house, from low tables or counters, to shoes that may be laying around. I don't chew them, but will be happy to play tug of war, and switch to one of my ropes very easily since it is hard to get a grip on a shoe or teddy bear. If I get attention, either a belly rub or playing fetch with a ball, I am less likely to get into trouble. During the day, that may mean just laying on the ground near the desk where someone is invariably typing at a computer or chatting on a zoom call.
