Story
Junior’s family was moving and they were unable to take him with them. As you can imagine, he is heartbroken and confused why he’s in the shelter. He arrived 9/12/24 and is 2 years old. He is incredibly sweet and well behaved. He knows basic commands, is house trained, and is kid & pet friendly! Unfortunately, he tested positive for heart worms, but this is easily treatable! He’s already neutered but would be microchipped upon adoption. Please meet this sweet boy in kennel 80, his ID is 661831. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.

Story
Oso is a sweet husky that was originally brought to the shelter with his brother Junior, but was adopted. He has since been returned 9/13/24 due to his new owner not being strong enough to handle him. He has been noted to be animal & kid friendly! He is already microchipped and neutered so he’s ready to go home, for real this time. You can find him in kennel 84 & his ID is 661847. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. Story
The position I am in is not an easy one and I do not take my decision to give up my pup lightly. I am facing significant life changes that are making it difficult to provide the attention and care that Gio needs. I am urgently looking for a compassionate, experienced individual or rescue organization to take in a special dog in need of a new home. Although he does suffer from anxiety, he is still the most loving , clever , and loyal companion that someone could want . He thrives on human connection and would do best with someone who can provide a stable and nurturing environment. I believe I am making the most responsible decision for Gio by prioritizing his well being given my circumstances.

Teddy is a loving and energetic pup! He loves to snuggle and play. Taking long walks and running are his favorite outdoor activities. Teddy is a full bred I acquired from a breeder in Tennessee. Unfortunately my financial situation has changed quite a bit since I adopted Teddy a year ago and am no longer able to take care of him. Teddy would make a great companion for a family looking for a playful pup.

Story
He is a goofy white Alaskan Husky weighing 50 lbs. He is heartworm negative, full of energy, and will listen to sit and come. He is talkative like all huskies and loves roaming the yard or going on walks and exploring. He was found as a stray and saved by the rescue. He is micro chipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines. He probably will be better as the single dog in a home because he will try mount other dogs, although he shows no aggression to other dogs. He is very people friendly.

Story
Freya is extremely smart and has always reminded me of Nana, the dog off of Peter pan. She has always wanted to be where the kids are, but never interfered with them playing, she just wants to watch over them. She will come and get your attention if there's something wrong. She's not very vocal unless there's a knock at the door. She doesn't like baths and was traumatized before I got her at 3 months old. She only wants affection on her time, much like a cat. She's very well trained and would be the perfect pet for an elderly person.

Story
Sercy is a sweet and beautiful girl, approximately two years old and 43 lbs She is happy, healthy, absolutely loves people and they love her right back. She has been gentle with all children she's met and thrives on attention. She enjoys long walks and hiking in the woods and is very happy and calm when being brushed. She also loves belly rubs. She has been trained to stay off furniture and she sleeps through the night on her own bed. She hasn't been crated and I don't think she'd do well in a crate. She was found roaming the streets so nothing is known about her previous life. She has been with me for four months and in that time has been spayed, microchipped, and has had some formal training. She walks well on a leash with a harness and does very well interacting with other dogs while in doggy daycare. Sercy would do well in a home with a fenced yard and more than one person (or one person and a friendly dog) to love. Active children would be a bonus!

Story
This furry, handsome gentleman is Argos! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 9/7, and no one has come to reclaim him. Argos is now searching for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe him as friendly and playful. He takes treats very gently. Argos is a bit strong on leash so he'll benefit from someone patient and kind who can give him a refresher on leash walking skills. We're betting Argos will be an amazing adventure buddy, so if you're looking for someone to hit the trails with, he's your guy! Argos is approximately 3 years old, and he weighs 58 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Argos in run 17; his ID # is 661698. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
This is Gary, a three year old neutered male. A (surely well meaning?) young man ended up with him as an impulse pet, but really had no idea what he was getting into with an animal as needy as a dog (not to mention a Malamute) I'm working on teaching him some basic manners to match his truly sweet personality. His dream home would have many people and a playful friend or two. I forgot how utterly charming some Mals are, and need to get him a forever home before my family falls any more in love with him. He loves people and playful puppies, seems indifferent to cats, and positively thinks every small animal is a squeak toy. He's safe to leave in a house alone, somehow, is perfectly house trained, is not food aggressive. He's had no training, but is even more people-focused than most Mals. You should know how to train a smart dog if you adopt!
