Story
I adopted Blossom with every intention of providing her with a long-term, loving home. Unfortunately, shortly after bringing her home, my mother suffered a serious hip injury. Because I am now responsible for her care and mobility needs, I am no longer able to give Blossom the time, attention, and exercise she deserves. Blossom is an adorable and affectionate dog who loves everyone and every animal she meets. She has a naturally social, gentle demeanor and bonds quickly with people. She is energetic and playful, and she loves going for walks. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys exploring, but stays right on course from point A to point B. She comes with a full-sized crate, a harness, a leash, a slow feeder bowl, and her vaccination documents. She has not had any issues with people or other animals, except for curiosity. She does nip when she wants to play, but this is common for huskys. She will do best with another dog or with someone who is home very often.

Story
Juniper is a gorgeous, goofy, high-spirited Husky who’s ready to brighten someone’s world! This playful girl has energy to spare, love to give, and a whole lot of personality wrapped up in her soft, fluffy coat. This sweet girl is bright and eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. Like many Huskies, she’ll need consistent training, mental stimulation, and an active home that understands the breed’s energy and escapologist tendencies. A secure yard is a big plus! If you’re looking for a spirited companion who will make every day more exciting, Juniper might be your perfect match! If you are interested in meeting Juniper, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12:30p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12:30p & 2p-6:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Adoption application can be filled out and approved during your meet-and-greet. If you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption!

Story
Blu is a 5-year-old red-haired Alaskan Husky. We rescued him after he had been abused and severely malnourished. He’s come a long way but still struggles with separation anxiety. He’s very low-energy, loves other dogs, and would do best with older kids who understand boundaries. He’s shy around new people but incredibly sweet once he warms up.

Story
Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who has already been adopted. Violet has been waiting for a year now to find her family. She is so deserving and loving. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. She could live with another male companion in the home but would also be just as happy being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. She is looking for a family with a fenced in yard and no small animals please. *********************************** If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link: https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161 Or visit CHAAMP.org to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence. A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes. ********************************* CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. ADOPTION FEES ~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00 ~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00 ~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00 ~Puppies under 6 months: $375 All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs. ********************************* We highly recommend the following links that you will need to cut and paste: Kathy Sdao’s SMART x 50 (Capture & Reward Good Behavior) https://babysafedogtraining.com/kathy-sdaos-smart-x-50-another-way-to-use-1000-treats/ Building Your Dog's Confidence by Victoria Stilwell (FREE Online Course) https://www.vsdogtrainingacademy.com/enroll/demo/ Shy Adopters Guide https://www.shelterdogplay.org/_files/ugd/7c885c_2f9fe1f87ea24376912b6e0b18e41998.pdf ********************************* CHAAMP is not a shelter and is run by 100% volunteers.
