Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who has already been adopted. Violet has been waiting for a year now to find her family. She is so deserving and loving. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. Violet would be happiest being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. Meet ChickieThose eyes! Chickie is a beautiful 4-year-old Husky with gorgeous blue eyes that seem to look right into your soul. And while her name might sound cute and innocent, there’s a story behind it - Chickie was brought to the shelter by police after she was reportedly chasing chickens!When Chickie arrived, we discovered that she had been tied out with a prong collar around her neck. The collar had caused puncture wounds all the way around her neck, and the wounds had become infected. We had to shave her neck so we could properly clean and treat the injuries. Through all of it, Chickie was an absolute sweetheart. She patiently allowed us to shave her neck and treat her wounds, never giving us any trouble. She was such a good girl during what must have been a very uncomfortable experience.Today, Chickie is ready for a fresh start. She is sweet and gentle, and she seems to do well with other dogs. We believe she could also be wonderful with children, especially older kids who can join her for playtime and exercise.But Chickie is a Husky, and that means her new family needs to be prepared for some very typical Husky traits. She may be an escape artist, so a securely fenced yard is important. If you don’t have a fence, you’ll need to be committed to giving her several good walks every day. And because of her history of chasing, we are recommending a cat-free home.Chickie has been through enough. She deserves a family who will give her the love, care and security she should have had all along. Those beautiful blue eyes are ready to find someone who will never let her down again.
