Story
Kiba-Husky male, ~ 3 yr. (July 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application Kiba was taken into a Prison Program a couple months ago, to train for Therapy work. Unfortunately, the Prison is closing the program and he only has a short time to find a home, or his life may be at risk to euthanasia. The Head Trainer reached out to Rescue in the hopes of finding help for Willie and some of his pals. He's been training at the Prison for 5 mo. He's learned so much while in the program. He's house trained, crate trained. Knows his grooming and husbandry skills. He's also had obedience training! A real plus to someone who's looking for a solid dog who has a great start. The Trainer gives him high marks for being smart and quick to learn. Here are some of her observations..."He is very typical Husky. Strong willed, independent thinker, loves his trainers and everyone there." He gets along great with the other dogs in the Program. No cats, too much prey drive in the Husky breed. He's not lived with children yet, to that is an unknown until he's in foster care. He is full grown now, medium sized adult. Kiba's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Story
Meet Chloe! This beautiful pitsky (pit bull/husky mix) is smart, loyal, and affectionate. Shes got the perfect moderate energy level — snuggly when snuggles are called for, playful when its time to play. She loves hikes but also enjoys chilling with a marrow bone or other long-lasting chew. While a fenced yard would be ideal, she would also be happy a few walks per day. Chloe does great meeting new people. When our volunteer met her, Chloe was immediately friendly and happily received pets and scritches. She has lived with an older child (aged 1017) and did great. She has not lived with cats, so we dont know how she would do in a home with a cat, but she does have some prey drive, sometimes chasing squirrels and bunnies seen outside. After a slow introduction and acclimation period, Chloe did live with another dog successfully for a year. But she was not interested in the other dog; her current owner feels that she would probably prefer to be an only dog. Overall, Chloe walks well on a leash, but she does get excited at times and may pull hard —SQUIRREL! If another dog barks at her or seems very excited, Chloe may become reactive herself in response. This is something her mom has been working on with her and they have made progress, but her adopter should expect some continued work on this common issue. Vet visits and nail trims can be a bit stressful for Chloe, understandably. She does better with female vet techs/groomers and may benefit from a little pharmaceutical assistance. Chloe is 7 years old and weighs 58 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is completely housetrained. She can become anxious in a confined space, so crating is not an option for her, but she does fine loose in the home so does not need to be crated. This sweet girl is losing her home only because of her moms work, school, and housing changes, which are making caring for Chloe difficult and stressful. We (FFOCAS) are helping Chloes mom safely rehome her. Interested? Please reach out through email (ffocas4pets@gmail.com) or through adopt a pet. We will ask you to fill out a rehoming application to keep this process as safe as possible for all involved — especially Chloe!

Story
Zuri- German Shepard / Husky male, DOB 5-10-23 (Oct. 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Zuri was surrendered to a Dog Trainer because his prior owners did not have the time for him. He's been doing great in the Prison Program that the Trainer coordinates. He's housetrained, crate trained, knows basic obedience commands, knows about grooming and husbandry care. Zuri's inmate trainer says he gets along great with the other dogs in the Prison Program and is an intelligent, typical young German Shepard energy. The opinion being he'd be a wonderful family dog. Zuri gets along well with the other dogs in the Prison Program. We do not know if he lived with children or cats. He has a great personality. He will enjoy an active lifestyle, hiking, running, playing. He is loving and will be a wonderful companion. He is just stunning with those blue eyes! Story
Kimchi is such a happy girl. She loves to play with other dogs and loves children. She was born on February 26, 2025, which means she still acts like a puppy. We are looking for the perfect family for Kimchi that is willing to love her unconditionally just as we do. She loves to be outdoors and loves to run in and out of the house. She loves to eat ice and drink a lot of water. We would love to rehome her with a family that has other dogs as well so that Kimchi will have friends to play with. She is up to date with all of her vaccines and is well taken care of. I will admit she is a master at escaping. We are trying to rehome her because my husband is extremely allergic to her fur. We have been trying since she was a puppy, thinking that my husband would get used to her fur, but it has gotten so bad. Kimchi is also chipped.

Story
Bella is a 2022 born Husky with a full white coat. We are her second home but cannot keep her as we have a baby. She is good with dogs her size, but not small dogs or old dogs. She has attacked and bitten a small dog before. Bella loves walks and playing with her toys. She really enjoys interactive play with her rope toy. She also likes cuddling and would prefer to be on the sofa but we don’t let her. She knows how to sing if you howl with her. She knows how to sit and will come when you whistle. She does best if she has easy access to a fenced yard but prefers to do her business away from home on her walks. A close at hand dog park works too. She has a cage but prefers to sleep in the floor but goes there if told. Her new home would be best served with a fenced yard, older children or other similarly energetic dogs to play with, or someone willing to play tug of war. I walk her at least 3x daily.
