Story
Hello, I'm ChaseLife hasn't always been easy for me. I've roamed the streets, trying to find my place in this big, confusing world. But now, at two years old, I'm ready to settle down and be the loyal companion I was born to be.I'm a Husky mix, with a spirit as wild as the wind and eyes that shine with curiosity. I love to run, to explore, to feel the earth beneath my paws. But there are a few things you should know about me.Firstly, I'm not a fan of small animals. The fact that I am a husky mix, I have a VERY high pray drive. When my brother and I were caught running, we had killed some chickens and some other smaller farm birds. We didn't set out to do what we did but again, we have a VERY high drive. So if you have small animals like bunnies, birds, small dogs or cats, it is NOT a good idea to adopt a Husky. And as for young kids, well, they're a bit too much for me. Their energy is infectious, but sometimes it's just too overwhelming. I prefer a calm environment where I can relax and unwind without any unexpected surprises. But don't let that deter you. I have so much love to give, to the right person or family. If you're someone who enjoys long walks in the great outdoors then maybe we could be the perfect match.I promise to be your faithful companion, your adventure buddy, your confidant. Together, we can explore the world and create memories that will last a lifetime. So, if you're looking for a furry friend to share your life with, consider giving me a chance. My name is Chase, and I'm ready to find my forever family.

Story
Koda originally came to us in January 2023 after she was found as a stray and she was not getting along with the finder's dogs. In the ten months that Koda has been with us, we have seen both the good and bad with her. While we are happy to adopt her out to the right home we would still be open to a rescue taking her into their care so she can continue to work on her behaviors. Koda is very picky about the people she befriends and lets into her space and is available to be visited by those with approved applications only. The kennel environment is stressful for many dogs and unfortunately amplified some of the negatives in Koda's behaviors. While in the kennel or when she is insecure in her environment Koda will guard items that she considers of high-value. In the shelter we have seen that in the form of her toys and her food/water bowls. She does not display these behaviors with staff she has bonded herself to or, generally, when she is away from the other dogs and not in the kennel. Due to these behaviors, any potential adopters will need to have previous experience owning dogs and may be required to visit with Koda more than once before taking her home! Koda cannot go to a home with other dogs, cats or kids. When Koda is comfortable with you, she is a gem of a pup! She LOVES to give kisses and will hop up for hugs and an ear scratch. This two-year-old pup is a huge fan of treats and is always ready for a snack! Koda knows 'sit' and 'leave it' currently. She is an extremely toy and food motivated pup and would love to learn more in her forever home! Her previous adopters did state that she was house-broken and generally a very well-behaved dog outside of her not getting along with their dog. Koda has done fantastic riding in the car for staff and also walks nicely on leash. Stuffed toys or anything that squeaks are her preferred toys to play with while in the yard or hanging out with staff. Koda also enjoys playing in water and would love to go to a home that will let her splash around! Staff knows that with the right home and people, Koda will make a fantastic dog! Koda is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Availability date: 01/04/2024

Story
This beguiling spayed Husky is Princess, or as she is affectionately called “Pretty Princess” by her doting staff and canine volunteers. Princess has quite possibly the clearest blue eyes out of all our resident canines. Princess looks forward to her daily time in our outdoor playpens and long walks by our pond. Miss Princess is dog selective and has specific criteria in which she uses to assess fellow canines. This fluffy girl has been learning leash manners and has taken very well to listening to commands. She is still learning to manage her excitement when she gets clipped to a leash so some patience and muscle is needed to continue working with her. Princess is looking to be the center of your attention to someone who understands Huskies. Princess can be off leash in a fenced in yard if one keeps an eye on her!If you are interested in meeting her, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12p & 2p-5:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Complete an adoption application online to be pre-approved for adoption. If you do not own your home, bring consent from the property owner to have a dog on the property. As always, if you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption. Adoption fees: 6m and younger $250, 7m-5y $200, 6y-10y $150, 11y and older $100.

Story
Allow me to introduce Miss Cassie, a young and infinitely energetic Husky. She is the true embodiment of the breed as her desire to explore and outsmart are a top priority. Cassie is the ultimate Houdini and can escape even the tallest of fences therefore she can only be outside if on a leash. Cassie is as sweet as sugar when around staff and canine volunteers. She was a bit timid after she was surrendered, but has opened up like a spring flower. Cassie has not been negative towards other dogs, however with the nature of Huskies it’s best remain cautious. She is sure to never disappoint in the realm of love as her tail never stops waging giving us all a smile. Please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12p & 2p-5:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Story
Carolina was rescued from a kill shelter, she was very skinny, frightened and had painful eyes due to intropian (her eyelashes were turned in and irritating/scratching her eyes) which caused her constant pain for her entire life. Her eyes have been repaired but one is still irritating her and may need another surgery to repair it again. Otherwise she is very healthy, very active, she is looking for an active person who loves to run, hike, travel, be outdoors to play ball with her - she loves to play with other larger-breed dogs with proper introductions. She is very friendly with people. She is very young and needs some training! She is an awesome dog for an active person or family with children over 10. Not good with cats or small animals.

Story
Miss Ruby came to us from a breeding farm in PA. She has had more litters than we can only imagine in her short life. She is not looking back on that old life and is ready for her happily ever after in a home where she can rest by the air conditioner and be loved. She is a sweet girl and would love to be a companion to children 8 years and older, to spoil her and give her attention. What better life to have in your senior years than a family to love you? Ruby is a big girl but could lose a little bit of weight and get her body back in shape from years of neglect.

Story
Minnie came to us from a local shelter after she was dropped off by her family who no longer wanted her. Minnie is around three years old but is all puppy at heart. Minnie is sweet and very strong. Life is very exciting and she is ready to explore! She is working on her leash skills but she says it's hard being a malamute built to pull sleds! She would be great at skijoring and is ready for the cold weather. She will need someone that can continue to work with her on her leash skills and living in a home again. Minnie is crate trained and very respectful. She would love to be where you are and be involved in anything you are doing. She loves her toys and chasing balls although she hasn't mastered the fetch and return part, lol. She is smart and ready to learn new tricks.
