Story
Hello world!  I am Aurora, a 2 years young Siberian Husky, that currently weighs 39 pounds, BUT I DO need to gain more weight! We are working on me eating lots and lots and gaining weight while I stay here at the shelter, it's been hard, but I have progressed slowly. My future adopt will need to be able to continue my feeding scheduled until I am where I am supposed to weigh! Which is only a few more pounds is what the staff tell me. Let's talk about the great things about me! This is what the shelter staff has to say about me...Aurora loves all people, is so sweet, gentle, easy to walk. SShe is always happy!Aurora is wonderful with other dogs, and is find around cats. She would integrate into any home easily!See, the staff likes me here. What they would like more is to see me in a home. They told me I am being listed as special needs, for a couple of reasons, but that it's time to at least give it try to find me a home that will help work through things with me with the support of the shelter. Here is what they have to say:Aurora came to us very underweight. We found out she has Giardia, which can cause a lot of diarrhea. She has been treated for this and now has regular poops! She continue to pee, a lot. We have tested her blood, stool samples, and urine. We treated her for a UTI to cover all bases. She continue to pee more than what we would say is normal. At this point, we believe it may be anxiety. She was in a foster home for a short time and the foster reported that while they were home, the urinating was not an issue, but when they would leave she would just pace and pee pace and pee. Recently we have started her on some medication to potentially help anxiety and are seeing if we see a difference in the peeing behavior. We just started this but we think it may be helping. Aurora's perfect home would be where someone is home a lot with her. As well as someone who has patience as we work though the urination concern. The staff is more than happy to answer and discuss any questions that future adopters may have on Aurora! Please reach out if interested. She is at the shelter and you can come meet her any day we are open.  Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 37.8 Age: 2yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Leia is a good dog who is set with the way that she is. She is house trained, but she is stubborn. She likes treats and people food. The thing is if she has a taste of those things she won't eat her regular food for awhile. I mean she will sit there with the food and the water and won't touch it for days. She takes food from the trash. I've had her since August. She eats everything. She ate foot powder from trash. She had skin ointment, a whole bottle of cooking oil, tried to eat bleach like she just don't care what it is. The guy she came from says she wouldn't do things like that's not true she does. She has this thing with her that if she can't have her way she has a tantrum she screams she tried to dig her claws on furniture. She never hurts us though she's very respectful to kids she loves kids she protects my kid if she hears me yell at her. It's just the thing with the food I could put the things away she finds them I tie her up cause ion have a crate yet she screams so much

Story
www.huskyrescueteam.org    If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.org Meet Nome At just 11 months old, Nome has already lived the life of a stray—waiting with no one coming for him. But rescue did, and now this tall, skinny boy with the longest tail is ready to find a home of his own.   Nome is still very much a big puppy, full of curiosity and fun. He’ll need a patient owner who can guide him as he learns the rules of the home. Yes, he’s been known to sneak a snack off the counter or chew on something he shouldn’t—but Nome is eager to please and super easy to redirect. His goofy, derpy personality makes every day with him a joy.   High-energy and playful, Nome loves wrestling with other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine companions and an active lifestyle. A fenced yard is a must, and he’ll do best with people who aren’t gone for long workdays. He’s crate trained, mostly housetrained, strong on a leash, and loves his walks. Food motivates him, pets delight him, and his happy spirit is contagious.   Nome’s best buddy at the rescue is Freya—so if you don’t already have a dog at home, consider adopting them together for double the fun.   Nome is looking for a family who understands the curious, mischievous nature of the Husky breed and is ready to embrace all the love, laughter, and adventure he brings.   He is located in Maryland. His adoption area is NJ, DE, PA, MD, VA - nearby states to these considered on a case by case basis. More pictures on our website. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply     If you have additional questions please email  info@huskyrescueteam.orgDecember 26, 2025, 11:40 am

Story
www.huskyrescueteam.org    If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.org At just 1 year old, Geo’s life almost slipped away.   A stray with no one coming, his days at the shelter were numbered—until we stepped in.   Geo isn’t just another Husky. There’s a presence about him: stoic, dignified, and quietly magnetic. His striking good looks catch your eye, but it’s his calm, kind demeanor that holds you there. His eyes carry untold stories, yet his spirit is steady and gentle.   Geo would flourish in a home with a fenced yard and a canine companion to share playtime. He’s balanced—playful without being wild, affectionate without being needy. Simply put, Geo is the kind of dog who makes you feel lucky just to walk beside him.   Geo is located in NC.
