Story
Mandii is my 7 year old Husky/lab. She is sweet and loves to be loved on. She loves to snuggle and play and enjoys big bones and loves car rides and sticking her head out the window. She has always been a good girl and a fantastic fur baby but I am moving and unable to keep her. She has been around children and lived with cats. She has never bitten or been aggressive and she always does well when she gets her shots. Shes wonderful and looking for her forever home and i pray that someone is looking for their best friend.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Donut. I'm about 1 year old and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was found as a stray in East Liverpool and I was taken to Hancock County animal shelter, then I was transferred here since this is the county in which I was found. I am a very sweet, playful, energetic girl. I could use a little training with my basic manners, but overall, I'm a good girl. I am very smart and I will listen if I know you won't put up with my shenanigans. If I get enough playtime and exercise, I am an excellent girl. I do get out of normal crates and I try to get out when I am left alone, so I would do best if kept in a heavy duty crate while you're away to help keep both me and your belongings safe. I do well with most other dogs. I can be a little dominant with some females, but I am usually good with about anyone I meet. I LOVE to play and would be an excellent playmate for another young, active dog. I do a pretty decent job at keeping my kennel clean, but may still need just a little work with potty training. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Zoe. I'm about 11 years old and I weigh about 45 lbs. I was brought into the pound as a stray and I was immediately recognized as a dog that had just been here at the pound not long before making my way back in. When I was here before, I had been here with another dog. When we were claimed, they young man adopted us back but I actually belonged to his parents and the other dog belonged to him. Apparently him getting us back from the pound upset his parents and they kicked him out over it. He found a safe place to keep his dog Karma, but had to leave him behind since we were not his and he really didn't have a place for us to go. He also found out my friend Boo was here, so at least I get to share a kennel with a friend here again this stay. I'm an old girl and really hoping I get to find a loving new family that will love me during my remaining senior years. I am a very good, sweet girl. I love people and I get along well with other dogs. I keep my kennel clean aside from "old lady accidents" because I can't hold it as long as I used to. My friend Boo and I do not need to be adopted together, but we do get along great, and would be a good pair for someone looking to adopt 2 dogs. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. Story
Hey! Do you have previous husky experience? Meet me! I'm Prince! I might not live in a castle anymore, but I sure hope I do one day. At 8 years old, I've had a lot of experiences in life and I'm ready to have a few more! I walk well on a harness and love to meet new people. However, when it comes to other dogs, no thank you! I may sometimes get a little bit TOO excited or anxious but I am easily redirected with treats or stuffies. As an older lad, I've got some health concerns with my joints, my teeth and my ears. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease but as of now I have no symptoms! The medical staff taking care of me would be happy to talk to you about all my quirks before adopting. Come say hello to royalty and take me home today! Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside- 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License #- 1121
