Story
Say hello to adoptable Nova, a beautiful 6-year-old girl who is looking for someone to call her own! 🥰Nova is a vocal girl and isn’t shy about letting you know what she’s thinking! While she loves to have a little fun, she is a very calm girl who enjoys spending time relaxing and doing her own thing. She’ll happily play ball for a few seconds 🎾 before deciding that lounging and taking it easy sounds much better. 😂Nova seems to enjoy the company of people while also being comfortable entertaining herself. She doesn’t appear to mind other dogs, but we’re still waiting to officially dog test her. We hope to do that very soon and will have more information to share! If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back companion who enjoys a little playtime followed by plenty of relaxation, Nova could be the girl for you. 💕🐾Come meet Nova and see if she’s your perfect match!📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA 15068📝 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388

Story
Say hello to Zeus! Zeus is a handsome 1-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix weighing around 60 pounds! Zeus is a fun, playful guy with plenty of personality, and he’s perfectly capable of entertaining himself. If you give Zeus a yard and some toys, and he’ll happily toss his toys around and chase after them all on his own! While Zeus can play well independently, he truly adores being with his people. Hugs, head pats, and bum scratches are his love language. If you're busy, he's also the kind of companion who will happily hang out beside you while you work, chewing on a favorite bone and keeping you company. He’d love a home with a fenced yard where he can run, play, and show off his goofy side and his zoomie skills! While he hasn't been on any hikes or park walks while in rescue, his foster mom thinks he'd make a great walking or hiking buddy. To be clear, Zeus doesn't need a crazy active home (that's where his yard, enrichment toys/bones, etc can come into play!) But he should not be expected to be a couch potato, binge-watching partner. Unless you two  went on a long walk or hike and now it's time to relax on the couch while catching up on true crime or reality shows. He could be down for that. Zeus is crate trained, sleeping well overnight, and keeps his crate clean. He’s mostly potty trained, but his new family should be willing to continue working with him as he finishes mastering the routine. Zeus is good with other dogs but can sometimes overwhelm them. If the other dog is comfortable checking Zeus, they should be fine!  No cats or small dogs under 15lb - they look too much like snacks for Zeus. While we don't want it to define him, we wish to be transparent in letting you know that Zeus was stabbed.  He was saved by local Sable Kennel animal control and the team at VEG in East Liberty. His wound is healed, and he frolics and plays as though nothing ever happened. Despite this awful display of humanity that impacted him, Zeus remains a happy, goofy, loving boy. If you think there is a spot for him your home, Zeus encourages you to apply today!  Paws Across Pittsburgh, KL 16182  ##2825127##

Story
Meet Jovi! Jovi is around 11 months old now. She’s a 40lb husky mix, and she has been patiently waiting for a home of her very own since she was a puppy. Jovi came into our shelter with her littermates back in April after being rescued from a terrible hoarding case. And we can hardly believe how far this girl has come. When she first arrived, she was a terrified little puppy covered in layers of waste, and now look at her. She’s happy, clean, beautiful, and full of personality. We never imagined we’d watch Jovi grow from a scared puppy into an adult right here in our kennel. But that’s exactly what’s happening. Jovi can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her some time to warm up and you’ll get to see the real Jovi. She’s goofy, playful, silly girl who loves having fun! She’s learned SO much since coming to us, and now she’s ready for the next step: a home where she can continue growing into the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. Earning Jovi’s trust is actually pretty simple. Give her a calm voice, spend some time with her, be patient... and bring TREATS. Lots of treats. The way to this girl’s heart is definitely through her stomach! Jovi would do best with another playful dog in her home. Having a playful doggy sibling would help her continue building confidence, learn how to be a dog, and give her the companionship she needs as she experiences something completely new... a loving, clean, and stable home of her own. Jovi is playful. She’s happy. She’s goofy. And she is so incredibly deserving after everything she’s been through in her first months of life. She doesn’t need anything fancy. She just needs patient and understanding people, a doggy sibling, and a safe place where she can finally grow up knowing what it feels like to be loved. Jovi has spent far too much of her life waiting. We’d really love for her next chapter to finally be in a home. Please come meet Jovi. We promise, she’s worth it. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Story
This guy is currently in the market for a new home … he’s a good boy, good with kids, and good with other dogs. He’s a husky mix and needs a whole lot more activity and exercise than our home can provide. He is crate trained, housebroken, and has some manners. He loves peanut butter, rawhides, long hikes at Moraine, and chasing cats - and not always in the fun playing tag way. He loves food he's not supposed to eat and will chew things he's not supposed to if he's left alone or bored. He's very affectionate and will definitely keep your bed warm at night if you let him.
