He lights up when it’s time to play—especially with toys that bring out his zoomies—but he’s just as content to sit calmly and soak up attention and affection. He already knows how to sit on command, especially if there’s a toy involved! Auggie gets along great with other dogs, especially playful ones, and he’s respectful when corrected by more mellow pups. This affectionate, playful boy is ready for his second chance at life. Story
Luna, a sweet 7yo Husky, has spent her entire life in a loving home. Unfortunately, due to her owner’s health and life circumstances, Luna found herself surrendered to a high-kill shelter. Now, this gentle senior is looking for a chance to feel loved and secure again. Luna is calm, affectionate, and wise beyond her years. Though she’s in her golden years, she still has so much love and joy to offer. But time is running out for this deserving girl. Luna has a chance to leave the shelter and start her new life, but she needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER before May 31st. We just know this sweet girl will thrive in Wisconsin - all she needs is someone to say yes. If you have room in your home and heart for Luna, please apply to foster or adopt at www.HBWI.org/adopt. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
It's with a heavy heart that I have to say good bye to my baby girl, Xena. I've had her since she was a puppy and I've loved her every step of the way. Xena is spunky, ambitious, creative, mischievous, and most of all loving. She is everything that you could want in a dog. Unfortunately, in July of this year I'll be moving out of the country, and they don't allow dogs where I'm going, so I need to make sure that my sweet heart has somewhere to go. Ideally you'd have a lot of land for her to run and explore, along with at least one other dog. Xena has never been around cats or small children, so I can't vouch for her there, but she gets along well with other energetic dogs. Adoption fee is negotiable, I'd just like to ensure she goes to a good home. Thank you for reading
