Story
Hello handsome! Meet Bernard, a young Alaskan Husky mix who weighs about 46 lbs. He is a little timid and shy when you first meet him, but slowly warms up with treats and toys. He's considered a medium to med-high energy dog who likes squeaky toys, playing fetch and neck scratches! He is also food motivated which can make training easier. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about Bernard on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet him today!! Adoption fee: $450 All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the "HOW TO ADOPT" tab at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including: contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. Please be sure to include the contact information for your vet as we will call. If your vet requires an information release, please be sure to contact them as soon as you submit your application. We are a group of volunteers with families and jobs, so please be patient and allow a few days for our response. JR's Pups-N-Stuff Dog Sellers License 512395-DS

Story
Dahlia is the only female in the litter, and the smallest. She is definitely a princess but will throw down just like her brothers. She is very curious and loves to play. Dahlia has a black and brown coat, super pretty. Her mom was found on the side of a highway with a broken leg. She surprised us a few weeks later with 5 big babies! Mom is a husky/pit mix and dad is unknown but we suspect he is something large like a Great Dane because her babies are BIG! The adoption fee is $395 with transport and includes current shots, microchip, spay/neuter & current on preventions. If you are interested in adopting Dahlia email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com for an application.

Story
Luna was adopted at 5 months old from the Ozaukee Humane Society in December 2022. Little is known about her background, other than she came from a hurricane rescue group down south (Arkansas/Alabama). I adopted her in hopes that she would form a bond with my other dog, who has special needs. While they seem to tolerate each other, my older dog does not get along with poor Luna and often times takes it out on her. So far, Luna has shown to be a sweet and loyal companion with a high amount of energy. She would be great as an only pet, and/or with someone who can match Luna's energy and need for physical activity. Luna is mostly potty trained (she does still have an occasional accident). However if she is kept on a strict schedule she does very well. Luna is currently receiving private behavioral lessons from a certified dog trainer.

Story
Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 5-18-2023   Hello! My name is Siku!   I am looking for a husky loving family. I am quite young yet at about 1 year and weighing about 45#. I am still very much a puppy and come with the needs of a puppy.    What might that mean for my new family? I need a husky kind of home and family environment.  My ideal family will hopefully have experience with huskies or other nordic breeds.  I would like a home with a fenced yard with room to run. No apartments or condos, they are definitely not for me.  I require frequent exercise and a family who is willing to keep up with me. Currently, I walk 2-3 x a day. With all this practice, I am getting better with leash walking. I would make a great running or hiking partner.  And though I have not tried yet, I would likely do very well at daycare.    I also enjoy outside running time in the yard.  My other favorite activities include playing with similar or larger size doggies and chewing appropriate toys and chew bones. I need that additional mental stimulation, so I don’t get board and find other things to do. I do have the desire to chase small animals like bunnies, squirrels, and birds, so a cat household is not the house me.   I am continuing to work on my house manners and I am very smart. I am housetrained. I do best with a consistent potty schedule. I am not a fan of the crate and get a bit anxious, but will go in for short periods of time while you are gone. I am able to stay out of my crate overnight and sleep next to my foster's bed. Being a husky, I do talk, especially when I play or when it's mealtime.  I love my food. I am learning that I need to provide people personal space, so I am working on not jumping up and mouthy playing. I do this mainly for attention, as I like to be first in line for petting or treats. But, I am learning quickly that sitting nicely gets me treats and pets faster. While I am still learning, there is the chance that smaller and younger children in the home could be easily knocked over due to my very active play. So, an older child (10+)  household is the better choice for me. I have only met a few children this age and and enjoyed getting pets from them.  I am very good at sit and getting better a waiting. I enjoy my treats which helps in my training, so have lots of those handy. I share my toys and enjoy a good game of keep away and chase. I have been learning quickly from my foster siblings and would do well in a house with a fun younger doggy friend/s that enjoy playing like me. Older doggies may get a bit annoyed at my constant need for playtime.     I am a very handsome boy! That brings us to grooming.  What can I say, my coat is a beautiful thick medium length, but I will shed. On the plus side, I do well with my bath and brushing, especially if you have treats.    I would love to meet a person or family that understands my needs and breed.  I have lots of love to give and am waiting to meet you ~love Siku   Adoption Fee: $450.00   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . Good with children, very playful and sweet female husky/mix. Fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. She comes with crate, toys, and dishes. I’m full time student and work and didn’t realize how much work goes into having a larger breed. Her birthday is 11/23/2022. She is very loving and smart. She will bring you her dish when she’s hungry and barks when she needs a walk. ❤️❤️

· Intake Reason: Transfer from MADACC·Weight: 56 lbs. Known with:· Cats: Unknown· Dogs: Was adopted for two days and did not get along with the other dogs in the home· Kids: Unknown· Personality: Friendly and waggy; Knows how to sitHi, my name is Chance, and I am a fun-loving guy. I came to WCHS from MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) where I was a stray. Huskies are notorious for being escape artists and wanderers, so I guess I am not surprised that I got separated from my person. Free spirits with a zest for life and a sense of adventure are a hoot, but my family will need to ensure I stay safe and out of mischief. Although I have characteristics of my husky ancestors, I think I am an adorable mix of other noble breeds that combine into one spectacular pooch. I have a bonhomous nature and bring cheer to all I meet. I am also very smart and think it would be wonderful to take training classes with you so I increase the number of human words in my repertoire. Since I like to stay busy, getting involved in training and learning new skills could be one of my jobs; I would love to have a job or two. A guy like me needs to stay active and occupied because, if I get too bored, my naughty streak could emerge; perhaps we can take long hikes or get involved in canine sports where I could show off my athletic ability. Mentally challenging toys are a great way to give my brain a workout; maybe I could take my meals using a foraging mat. I hope you stop by to meet me in person and check out my dynamic personality for yourself and then decide to take a chance on me.#2

Story
Meet Tonic! Hey everyone, my name is Tonic, and I hope you are ready to board the Hot Mess Express! Choo chooooo! I wasn't really expected to live more than a week, and here I am months later, living the Hot Mess dream. I'm about 10 years old, and all 50 pounds of me is so grateful for this chance to find a forever home. Let's get the good things out of the way first, and then I'll tell you why I'm the conductor of this train! I get along well with other dogs, I don't mind cats, and I could do well with older, respectful kids. I'm house trained, but even though I really try to make it outside when I have to go, sometimes I don't quite get there. I'm going to need a fenced yard with a doggy door at my forever home so I can go out as needed. Otherwise, I'll keep you up all night long. I have some issues that I'd like you to know about before you make your decision about adopting me. Listen real closely because one of us has to listen, and I won't hear a word you say.I have IBD, which means I have to eat prescription food or a commercial food with rabbit. I can't have chicken, beef, or lamb, though. I also have a huge gallstone. I have patches of missing fur, and sometimes I get sores on my toes. I take a medicine called galliprant, which is for my arthritis. And of course, you probably gathered that I'm deaf. All of these things don't slow me down! I'm a husky, and in true husky fashion, I have a bit of sass, and won't hesitate to talk, or even yell at you. I love to lay outside in the cold and snow, but my most favorite thing is destroying cardboard boxes. I know someone will want to love me and let me conduct the train, and I can't wait for the day that they find me so I can have the best time of my life! Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Learn more about Albert's Dog Lounge, our mission, and adoption policies by visiting Albertsdoglounge.org. Begin your application process by copying this link into your web browser: https://www.albertsdoglounge.org/apply WI Dept. Of Agriculture License Number: 474085-DS Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
