I am quite young yet at about 1 year and weighing about 45#. I am still very much a puppy and come with the needs of a puppy. What might that mean for my new family? I need a husky kind of home and family environment. My ideal family will hopefully have experience with huskies or other nordic breeds. I would like a home with a fenced yard with room to run. No apartments or condos, they are definitely not for me. I require frequent exercise and a family who is willing to keep up with me. Currently, I walk 2-3 x a day. With all this practice, I am getting better with leash walking. I would make a great running or hiking partner. And though I have not tried yet, I would likely do very well at daycare. I also enjoy outside running time in the yard. My other favorite activities include playing with similar or larger size doggies and chewing appropriate toys and chew bones. I need that additional mental stimulation, so I don’t get board and find other things to do. I do have the desire to chase small animals like bunnies, squirrels, and birds, so a cat household is not the house me. I am continuing to work on my house manners and I am very smart. I am housetrained. I do best with a consistent potty schedule. I am not a fan of the crate and get a bit anxious, but will go in for short periods of time while you are gone. I am able to stay out of my crate overnight and sleep next to my foster's bed. Being a husky, I do talk, especially when I play or when it's mealtime. I love my food. I am learning that I need to provide people personal space, so I am working on not jumping up and mouthy playing. I do this mainly for attention, as I like to be first in line for petting or treats. But, I am learning quickly that sitting nicely gets me treats and pets faster. While I am still learning, there is the chance that smaller and younger children in the home could be easily knocked over due to my very active play. So, an older child (10+) household is the better choice for me. I have only met a few children this age and and enjoyed getting pets from them. I am very good at sit and getting better a waiting. I enjoy my treats which helps in my training, so have lots of those handy. I share my toys and enjoy a good game of keep away and chase. I have been learning quickly from my foster siblings and would do well in a house with a fun younger doggy friend/s that enjoy playing like me. Older doggies may get a bit annoyed at my constant need for playtime. I am a very handsome boy! That brings us to grooming. What can I say, my coat is a beautiful thick medium length, but I will shed. On the plus side, I do well with my bath and brushing, especially if you have treats. I would love to meet a person or family that understands my needs and breed. I have lots of love to give and am waiting to meet you ~love Siku Adoption Fee: $450.00 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI.
