He originally came to Wisconsin in March 2025 and was adopted by his current owner, but due to recent lifestyle changes, she is no longer able to give Jax the time, exercise, and mental stimulation he needs. Meet Jax Jax is an approximately 2-year-old Husky mix with a fun, happy personality and lots of love to give. He is a friendly, medium-energy boy who enjoys staying active and being included in daily life. Jax loves going for walks, playing fetch, and is especially obsessed with balls. He is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash, making him an easy companion to bring along on adventures. Jax is also a smart boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and shake. Jax is great with other dogs and has done well with children. Because he can get excited when meeting new people and is still working on not jumping up to say hello, older kids would likely be the best fit for him. He is an all-around social, affectionate dog who loves attention and activity. With continued consistency and outlets for both physical exercise and mental enrichment, Jax will make an excellent companion for an active family or individual. Jax has not been cat tested. Age: Approximately 2 years Gender: Male Weight: 45lbs Breed: Husky mix Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Yes, older kids preferred Vaccines/Vetting: Up to date Jax is ready for his next chapter and would love a home that can continue giving him the exercise, structure, and attention he deserves. If you can foster or adopt Jax, please apply today. www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate). The adoption fee is up to the discretion of Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin. NOTE: THE BREED LISTED FOR EACH DOG IS OUR BEST GUESS WITH THE HELP OF OUR VETERINARIANS. You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it’s the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. Intake Reason: Surrendered; didn`t intend to keep Weight: 47 lbs Known with: ·Dogs: Dog selective. Keeps to self in WCHS playgroup. ·Kids: Exposed to kids 2-8 yrs old. Respectful. ·Cats: UnknownFun Facts About Me:•I am a gracious lady looking for someone to love in my golden years•I recently had an in-between home and learned that I appreciate respectful children and prefer not to share my things with other pooches•Although I am a mature gal and need to be careful with the heat because of my breed, I do like to stay semi-active. In my previous home I had fun in my fenced yard and going on 3-mile walks•Even though I am comfortable in a crate, I was so respectful of my person’s things that I was allowed to roam freely when I was alone and also sleep on the furniture at night•I have a wanderlust spirit and love to go on adventures with my person; I am an opportunist who will take advantage of an open door•I am playful and affectionate but independent enough not to be a Velcro pooch•I think car rides and playing fetch are two of life’s awesome pleasures•I am fluent in house-training and would ask to go outside by standing by the door•I am a smart cookie and know the cues for ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘kennel-up’•I have quite a weakness for Benebones; I think they are a grand and yummy treat#1

Story
Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it. Blue would rather have a couch, bed or a nice grassy backyard to chill in•NO CATS for either of them•Needs a husky experienced home
