Story
*D.O.B: 9-26-2018*Have you ever seen a more silly and beautiful husky? Doofy is ready to break free from the shelter and into a loving home of his own! Doofy was surrendered after his owner passed away and no one was able to care for him so they were going to euthanize him. We couldn't let that happen. Doofy is now neutered, has received all his vaccinations and is ready for a home! Doofy is your typical Husky and can be stubborn and is vocal! Doofy would do best in a home that doesn't have small pets! Doofy would love an active family that will provide him with all the enrichment a big husky needs. A fenced in yard will be needed for Doofy as he is a typical husky and likes to run! If you would like to meet Doofy please apply online at Eastshore Humane Association today!Applications can be found online at eastshoreha.org once your application is approved staff will contact you to arrange your own personal meet and greet! Please note we remain by appointment only at this time, please apply online or call the shelter prior to arriving! Thank you!

All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. November 30, 2023, 5:26 pm

Story
·Intake Reason: Stray- Owner known and no longer wanted; Returned to WCHS after 9 days due to aggression towards other dog in the home·Weight: 42 lbs. Known with: ·Cats: Chased cats in adopter's home ·Dogs: Has played with numerous dogs in her foster home; Can get bossy once comfortable; Would do best as an only dog in the home ·Kids: Lived with kids ages 5, 9 and 11 years and did well ·Personality: Husky to a T. Very active!Hi my name is Barbie! I was brought to WCHS to find a new home who hopefully has some experience with my breed. I was a little nervous when I first came in but I've done absolutely fabulous since being in my foster home. There are tons of dogs of various shapes and sizes that I get along with. My foster mom says that I play from the time I wake up until I go to bed so I will need a very active family. Outdoor adventures are some of my absolute favorite things, but if you are looking for an off leash companion, I wouldn't be your best choice. A fenced in yard would be great but I would be just as happy with long on-leash hikes into the sunset. I will need a regular schedule and patience to help me with housebreaking. I am also working on learning that a crate is a fun and safe place for me to be while my people aren't able to be with me. While being adopted I was very close to being fully potty trained and I did well being in a wire crate! Like a typical husky, I am not afraid to speak my mind. I'm sweet, affectionate and ready to find my furrever home.#2

Story
Fenris was rescued from an abusive situation (specifics unknown) and moved multiple times before settling with us. We would love to keep him, but unfortunately had to move and our tiny house does not suit his needs. He is food/toy protective, but has improved a lot since we first got him and could continue to improve with training. He is extremely energetic and playful and absolutely loves going on walks or to the dog park. He is a very sweet and anxious dog who just needs a loving home with lots of time and patience to take care of him.
