Story
https://foha.org/pet/josie2024/ Hi there! I'm Josie, and let me tell you, I'm a sweet, sassy bundle of love who's ready to find my forever home. I'm currently hanging out in foster care, and I absolutely adore being around my people! I'd thrive in a home where someone is around often, and I wouldn't mind snuggling up with you at night for some cozy doggy cuddles. I can handle being left alone for a little while, but I do prefer it if you're not gone for too long. I might cry for a bit when you leave, but don't worry-I settle down and, lucky for you, I'm not destructive when waiting for you to come back. As far as housebreaking goes, I'm mostly there! If you take me out every 2-3 hours, I won't have an accident. And if I'm left alone for a bit, I usually do just fine-though sometimes I get a little too excited when you come back, and, well, a tiny tinkle happens. I co-exist with other dogs, but I'm not a fan of overly energetic playmates-probably because I'm on the petite side! I'd prefer to be your only dog or to live with another calm canine. Cats? Well, I like them too, as long as they're on the calmer side. I did try to play chase with a cat once, and that didn't go over so well-got a little swat on the nose, but hey, I learned my lesson! If you're looking for the perfect small companion, I might just be your girl! Can't wait to meet you!

Story
ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Valentina! Valentina came to us from Puerto Rico. Valentina is about 5 months old and weighs 12 lbs. We have no idea what Valentina's breed mix is, but we guess JRT/Terrier mix. Valentina is an energetic pup who LOVES other dogs and would love to have another young and playful dog in her forever home. Valentina loves going on walks and her favorite toy is a squeaky ball or tennis ball. Valentina is doing wonderful with house and crate training. Young puppies require an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to work on training and socialization. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13329Hi! My name is Zoey! I was saved by OPH and currently being fostered in Frederick County Maryland.I’m guessed to be 9 years young, weigh about 12 lbs., Jack Russell Terrier mixed, I am a bit unsure about meeting new people, I like to decompress at my own pace, so please be patient with me, please. Once I am comfortable in my new surroundings, I will show you love, follow you around, and even want to sleep with you - if you let me.I am crate trained, my crate is my safe place, I sometimes hide toys in there. The doctor said I should lose some weight so my foster mom watches what I eat & my treats are limited.Did you notice the heart on my side? Foster mom tries to get pictures of my heart shape but I'm camera shy.I'm in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today - I won’t be available for long!

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12742Meet Ben, a 3-year-old, 30-pound ball of quirks and charm! Ben believes the world revolves around him, especially other dogs, and he makes sure they know it by barking for attention. He enjoys long, aimless strolls in the great outdoors but saves his indoor peeing for special occasions like when you’ve just cleaned the floor. This little wanderer will keep you entertained with his unique talent for looking lost until you invite him onto your lap. If you’re ready for a companion who’s equal parts amusing and baffling, Ben’s your guy!- I LOVE getting my head and belly scratched, and snuggling with my humans. To see me feeling some head-scratch bliss, click here!- I love bringing my toys into my crate to play. Watch me here!- I LOVE toys and FOOD! I'm food motivated so you can use food to teach me new tricks :)- Sometimes I like to chase my tail and my foster mom says it is really funny. See me being silly here!- I would do best in a home with no small children since I am still working on understanding personal space. In my foster home I like the kids 6 and over. Those little barely walking kids scare me.- Overall? I'm a very good and lovable boyFrom Ben's foster: Ben is a sweet boy with so much love to give, and it is clear that he just wants to be loved back. He has made so much progress in our time together. He will need an adopter who is patient and understands that it will take him some time to get settled in a new environment, but he promises to repay you with tons of kisses and snuggles. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
