When you love the Jack Russell breed of dog then you try to find that pure love to adopt.  Well Clyde is a very sweet dog but yet he is the shy type that will be oh so loving of a boy that will make you feel like you the most special person in the world.  He is just a year old and 17 pounds and he loves to play with toys that squeak and crunch. He is an active Jack Russell breed that needs a fenced in yard so he can run around and play with others safely. When it comes to cuddles….we all love that with our dogs, Clyde gives you the best cuddles that results when you “sit” he wants to be in your lap.  We will admit that he is not totally house trained and so that is a work in progress. He is crate trained as long as not being left for long hours cause of his age.   He walks on a leash as amateur but worked with it. He loves to go for long walks and see new things.   When it comes to feeling secure with a family, he is Ok with children who are respectable and who want to give him gentle and loving hugs. The Jack Russell breed is an active and vibrant one of colorful moods and playful antics.  They can be loving and snuggly and then zooming around the backyard with the energy that you wish you still had in your body.  They are invigorating and challenging to kind of up your anty so to speak.  They can help  you be more determined every day to be more focused and productive.   We love the active dogs that bring a zest to the pace of life and an intelligence that will keep you thinking great thoughts and making great strides in life.  If you are interested in Clyde the Slyde… please email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live and a little more about yourself and why a JRT like Clyde is right up your alley!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 14, 2025, 8:28 pm

Story
Meet Penny! A foster-rescue from a rural shelter in southern Virginia. I have had the lovely opportunity of bringing this adorable cuddle-bug into my home for the past few months, and now it is time for her to find her forever family. Penny is a 13lb Jack Russell-Brittany mix that LOVES her people, once she warms up, and just wants to cuddle. She is house & crate trained and is an absolute sponge for learning new tricks (she knows sit, lay down, roll over, and sit pretty). She is food motivated and a joy to have in the house. She has had some difficulty adjusting to city-life and has exhibited signs of reactivity with other dogs she meets out on walks, so I think it would be best for her to go to a home with a backyard. She has been doing fine in my apartment, but she tends to huff when she hears people in the hallway. She is a little shy when it comes to meeting new people, but once she warms up, her personality blossoms into the fun, loving, cuddle-bug I've gotten to know.

Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment.  Special Adoption Considerations: Rooster is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Rooster is Looking For: A forever home! Indoors. A human house, not a chicken house. And romps in parks and world exploration by his new humans' side! This cutie is eager to burn off all that young-dog energy and make pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see what he likes best - ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to chew on? Balls for fetch? Let's find out! And dog school, too, so he can show how super fast he learns.     Most of all, though, he wants to know where he belongs, to be safe and loved.
