Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12742Hi, my name is Ben and I just arrived to rescue with OPH! Read on to learn more about me:- I am guessed to be a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier/Feist mix and I'm petite at only 27 lbs- I love to run! My foster mom tries to sprint with me sometimes, but she's not that fast. I'd love to have a yard where I can run around- I LOVE getting my head and belly scratched, and snuggling with my humans. To see me feeling some head-scratch bliss, click here!- I am GREAT at sitting and working to perfect "down"- I’m happy to sleep in my crate at night and when my family is at work, but I prefer to hang out with the people when they are home - I am potty trained but sometimes get so excited that I accidentally tinkle- I love bringing my toys into my crate to play. Watch me here!- I LOVE toys and FOOD! I'm food motivated so you can use food to teach me new tricks :)- Sometimes I like to chase my tail and my foster mom says it is really funny. See me being silly here!- I would do best in a home with no small children since I am still working on understanding personal space. In my foster home I like the kids 6 and over. Those little barely walking kids scare me.- Overall? I'm a very good and lovable boyFrom Ben's foster: Ben is a sweet boy with so much love to give, and it is clear that he just wants to be loved back. He has made so much progress in our time together. He will need an adopter who is patient and understands that it will take him some time to get settled in a new environment, but he promises to repay you with tons of kisses and snuggles. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Gidget is a sweet girl who loves to get her snuggle on! Her favorite places to sleep are in a lap or pressed up against her person. Gidget was adopted at 4 years old and recently returned due to the owners moving. She is reported to be good with cats and dogs. She is currently not fostered with cats. As most small dogs are, she is cautious when meeting new dogs on walks, but given time, she seems to relax. Gidget is past all of the annoying puppy behaviors. She is mature enough to listen and follow her people. She doesn't chew things and she loves to just hang out. If you think Gidget might be a good addition to your family, please apply! Please do NOT submit a Petfinder inquiry or send an email. Please JUST submit your application if you might be interested or have any questions. Thank you!

Although he’s had some ups and downs in his young life so far, he is now safe and hanging out in his new foster home while he waits to find his forever family. Zuko likes his doggy buddies, and people are ok too, once he gets to know you. He just needs a little time to warm up when meeting new friends. Zuko can get nervous around young children, so an adult home would be best. He would love to find an experienced adopter who will give him the happy life he deserves. Zuko would do best in a single family home with a large fenced yard. He doesn't like strangers coming in his home, he's a good guard dog, but approved visitors need to move slowly after a slow introduction. He is very protective of his family. Won’t you consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy. Zuko would love to meet you!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Joe is a  happy, bouncy fellow who craves a stable life with someone who will be his forever! He is a little bit shy with new people but warms up quickly and will be in your lap before you know it. He gets along well with other dogs once they have been introduce, and he is fine with cats.  He enjoys his walks and he walks well on a leash.  He is a very fast learner and knows how to sit and stay and go to his pen,  and is working on a few other commands.  He is house trained and crate trained.  He can be a bit barky at first when left alone until he gets into a new routine.  At the end of the day, he will be quite happy to join you on the couch for some belly rubs and cuddle time.  He would do particularly well with another, confident, friendly dog to hang out with.  If you give Joe a chance to have a loving home, he will be your devoted companion for life!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
