Meet Meadow! She is sweet, playful, curious, has a beautiful soft curly coat, travels well in the car, her calm nature sets in quickly after some playtime and she’s peacefully quiet with only a very occasional alert bark. Chew toys and food puzzles are highly recommended for this girl. She’s happiest after a game of fetch. She is potty trained as well crate trained for short durations. She is leash trained, and knows basic obedience commands, but needs continued practice and consistency with both. She has a high pray, drive towards cats and other small animals. She is a Labradoodle and does shed soft fuzz. I am hoping for a nearby rehoming situation (northern Bay Area or other somewhat close proximity) so we can transition her from our home to yours with minimal stress.

Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. Sylvester is a wonderful, happy, affectionate black lab mix who is the perfect family dog. He was found in Stockton with a broken jaw, which has healed very well on its own. His Vet does not recommend rebreaking it because it will weaken his jaw. Sylvester walks great on a leash, rides well in a car and loves hanging out on the couch with his favorite people. Sylvester loves anything that squeaks and is excited to go through our informal agility course. He knows sit and doen and is working on stay. He is a sweet boy who would do well with an active family with older kids who like to go on adventures, take long walks or jog around the neighborhood and chill on the couch. Are you looking for a fun dog to explore the Bay Area with? Then Moose is your guy! This gorgeous chocolate lab mix has been waiting far too long long for his forever family. But he still has the biggest smile and is ready to run, fetch and play. Moose is a champion fetcher and like all labs, also likes the water (though he's not too sure about the swimming part.) He's good in the car and wriggles with excitement when he knows he's going somewhere for a new adventure. He's even down for a bath afterwards! Moose is super sweet but can be a little reserved at first. He is GREAT on a leash, very attentive, checking in with you during the walk or run to make sure he's on the right path. He's also very food-motivated, which makes him even more attentive and easy to train. Moose is not a first time adopter dog. He has some anxiety and is much happier when he is with you than when alone. He requires an experienced adopter with alot of patience who can help Moose feel secure and loved. Raimi is a young, beautiful, happy, smart. active black lab mix who was rescued from death row at the county shelter. Shortly after arriving at Jelly's, Raimi surprised us by giving birth to 3 puppies. Raimi was a wonderful and loving mom and never got impatient or grumpy with her baby. Raimi LOVES other dogs and is a wonderful mentor to younger dogs. She enjoys participating in our informal agility course, especially when treats are involved. She knows the sit and down commands and is currently working on stay. Raimi likes soft, pushy toys and running around patrolling her queendom. Raimi is NOT a first time adopter dog. She is initially very shy and nervous when meeting new people, particularly men. She needs an experienced and patient adopter who will go slowly with her and earn her trust. Once she knows she is safe and loved, she will return that love unconditionally. The ideal home for Raimi would be an active adult family, with a big yard and another dog. Another dog is a must.
