Thelma IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-07-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Thelma , please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22662&name=Thelma Thelma is the sweetest girl who wants nothing more than to have a family of her own. She had a very rough start in life and was part of a hoarding case where A LOT of dogs were living in a one bedroom apartment. Thelma has since adapted to being in a foster home and part of a normal household. Thelma would love a home with another dog so she can have a companion. She doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t ask for much and is a very quiet dog. She is a lab mix on the smaller side and gets along with all other animals. Please fill out an application to adopt Thelma! The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 7, 2025, 4:30 pm

Hank IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-07-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Hank, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22843&name=HankHank is less than a year old, and is a mixed breed puppy. Weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re not sure what his mix is, but possibly german shepherd, black lab, and husky (due to his cute tail which gets curlier and curlier whenever heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s happy or excited). He was pulled from a high-kill animal shelter with just 3 hours to spare.Hank likes to toss his rope toy in the air and catch it, and he loves a good squeaky ball. Hank loves people and is affectionate, intelligent, and very high energy. He has been trained for basic commands, is potty trained, and has been trained to be comfortable around vacuum cleaners.Hankâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s shelter paperwork described him as good with other dogs, but he has been known to become reactive when heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s walking on a leash and sees another dog. We think this is because of built up frustration due to being quarantined from other dogs for a couple of weeks after leaving the shelter (a standard precautionâ&#194&#128&#194&#148Hank has a clean bill of health from the vet, and his 2-week quarantine is now up). He will be receiving some extra training to reintegrate him with other dogs as we feel he could greatly benefit from some doggy playtime.Hank can be overly enthusiastic with his affections, so he is not recommended for homes with small children. Hank would do best with an active family that is able to walk him daily and possibly take him for hikes, runs, etc. This handsome boy likes to move. Hank is currently looking for a foster family or a forever family. His re-homing fee is $80. His vaccinations are up to date, and he has been neutered. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Story
Meet BRICK! He is about 4 years old and came to us through our community outreach program where he played with dogs big and small. BRICK had been hit by a car twice and his owner surrendered him to us so we could get him care and a good home. BRICK is all healed up and having fun playing with other dogs at our kennel. BRICK weighs about 70lbs and is a softie at heart. He can be a little shy meeting new people but quickly warms up. BRICK walks very well on leash and could benefit from a home with another confident dog. BRICK is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and is working on his crate training. If you are interested in meeting BRICK, please fill out our brief questionnaire at downtonwdogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire and our volunteer adoption team will get back to you. Follow BRICK on social media with the hashtag #ddrbrick (Please add the email adopt@downtowndogrescue.org to your contacts so we don't end up in your SPAM folder.)
