Layla is the sweetest girl who has nothing but love to give. She is a young and beautiful lab mix with gorgeous coloring. She would enjoy an active lifestyle, lots of space, and the companionship of another male dog buddy her size or as the only dog in the household. Layla has alot of energy but now walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is house and crate trained. Layla is very sensitive, showing qualities and potential to be a wonderful service dog in the right hands. She bonds easily with her human. Layla is healthy, spayed, weighs 60 lbs and is about 4 yrs old. A home with a fenced secure yard is required and someone who works from home would be a big plus. Story
Champ is a good boy. We got him when he was 3 months old and was raised inside the home with an elderly man. He was rescued and we have been fostering him and now we need to move and can’t have a large dog. It would also be stressful to move him Away from SoCal. He goes to doggy daycare every day so he socializes with other dogs and loves kids. He is skiddish with noises but loves a big yard to move around and needs a good family to take him in.

Story
A5739615 Elenor is a beautiful, sweet spayed female Hound/Labrador mix puppy!! She is only 15 weeks and estimated to be about 21 pounds and gets bigger every day!! Elenor has the cutest little “mask” around her eyes, floppy ears, and a beautiful soft copper coat! She arrived at the care center with a brother ( A5739614 Edward ), though they have since separated.  As expected, this gentle spirit is a little reserved at the moment, and loves to be carried by someone with a gentle energy.  Elenor is a very sweet girl who is just really looking forward to a safe and loving home that will allow her to feel safe and come into her own!!     -spayed female, 15 weeks and 21 pounds and growing every day. -Elenor is very sweet, a little timid, and is a little guarded right now- she just really needs to feel loved and safe. -Due to her being a puppy, expect that she will come with some needed training. -Arrived at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11-19-2025   ELENOR’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/WJm   For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ Stevehymon Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
A5737767 Meet Truffle , a 1.5-year-old lab mix boy carved from pure onyx - with just a few elegant touches of marble white on his chest and the tips of his back toes. Given how he flinches when hands move too quickly near his face, it’s clear his early experiences with humans weren’t the kindest. Yet Truffle’s heart remains wide open  - he’s incredibly sweet, people-loving, and oh so eager to form a real connection. With a gentle approach and some confidence building, his warm, tender personality truly shines. He’s been curious, friendly, and polite with other dogs at the shelter, though his size and youthful energy may be a bit overwhelming for tiny pups. Already potty trained and knowing “sit” and “down”, this boy’s desire to bond close with his people makes him a dream for positive-reinforcement training - he’s ready to flourish with someone who’ll show him the world can be safe and kind. Will that be with you?     -1 year 7 month old black and white lab mix -61 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/9/25 as an owner surrender - he wasn’t even brought to the shelter, but surrendered in the field, and we have no notes and no idea why, as Truffle is so sweet and darling! -needs some leash work, but is already potty trained and knows basic commands like “sit” and “down”, so this should be a breeze -could use some socializing with other dogs, but could make a good little brother to other pups you may already have, as long as intros are done carefully and intentionally - an older pup would be perfect for confidence building and learning the ropes   TRUFFLE’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/yWA   or more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ simroc_creative Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Pebbles is vivacious and loves playtime, especially chasing balls (but she's still working on bringing them back for a proper game of fetch!). She’s also incredibly cuddly and affectionate - belly rubs are definitely the way to her heart! Though she was described to be a bit defensive and wary of other dogs at the shelter, with our volunteers, she has shown to be non-reactive and calm with other pups in appropriate settings, with appropriate introductions. Good on a leash, knowledgeable of basic commands like sit, food motivated, and eager to learn, Pebbles is a perfect package deal.
