Story
#A5430963 Say hello to Lux, a stunning 2-year-old Labrador Retriever with a jet-black velvety coat and just a hint of white on his chest and tippy toes. Sleek, strong, and seriously handsome, Lux is as sweet and affectionate as he is striking. He’s smart, attentive, and already knows: sit, shake, and down.  Plus, he’s great on a leash! With his curious spirit and love for adventure, he’s always up for walks, playtime, or exploring new places - as long as he has his people by his side. Lux has a solid training foundation and is eager to keep learning with his new forever family. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend for a lifetime, Lux is your guy!      -2 year old black Labrador Retriever -81 pound neutered male -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before you can take him home, but the shelter can likely help with this! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/16/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and no idea why, as Lux is a perfect gentleman! -sleek, muscular, and incredibly handsome, with a velvety jet black coat accented with the lightest sprinkle of white on his chest and tips of his toes -inquisitive and sweet - very affectionate and happy to explore as long as he has you as a secure base -smart and attentive to his people - has clearly already had some training to help channel his energy and enthusiasm -can do sit, shake, and down, and is good on leash - seems to already have a strong training base his new family can easily build on to develop more advanced skills -still has his very vibrant and charming curious puppy spirit, which makes him an absolute joy to be around, especially during playtime, on walks, or any outdoor adventures!  https://youtube.com/shorts/55Ah9NPdCqU For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
A4638862 Meet Oreo , a 12-year-old Labrador Retriever / Queensland Heeler mix with a heart as sweet as her name. This cookie-colored senior sports a soft black-and-white coat, a dainty little chest bib, and the cutest white sockies on her petite feet. Though she’s understandably a bit wary in the shelter, Oreo is still perky and alert, and once she feels safe, her gentle curiosity begins to shine through. She’s scared and shut down in the kennel, but with a soft voice, a kind touch, and a little patience, she’ll bloom into a quietly loyal companion for the rest of her years. Once a beloved family dog, she was left behind when they moved - now she’s waiting for someone to give her the love and stability she deserves. Will you be the one to give Oreo comfort and dignity in her golden years?     -12 year old black and white Labrador Retriever / Queensland Heeler mix -49 pound spayed female -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/14/25 as an owner surrender - Oreo was unfortunately left behind after her family moved away without her -sweet cookie colored senior that truly lives up to her name!  -soft black and white coat, with a little bib on her chest and cutie sockies on her little feet -despite her age, perky and alert - a little on guard at the shelter, understandably so, but when she feels safe with you, she settles down and her natural curiosity can finally peek out -a bit scared and shut down in the kennel, so requires a soft touch, gentle voice, and patient heart - give her time to decompress and settle in, and you'll be rewarded with a quiet, steady loyalty -was a family dog until surrendered when they moved without her, leaving her confused and in the lurch - will you be the one to give her comfort, stability, and dignity in her golden years?   OREO’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/yMY For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ Sena Zimmer   Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER.
