Story
Adoption Fee: $375 + $200 s/n deposit All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: This is Arlo. On January 24, he arrived Colorado Puppy Rescue at 7 weeks old and weighing only 3 pounds. Within days he'd been to a neurologist and diagnosed with hydrocephalus and an uncertain life expectancy. On January 28th, Arlo moved into his new foster home, where he continues to live as he grows and explores and waits for his perfect family to come and claim him. Arlo is an amazing puppy who continues to surprise me everyday. He's spunky and playful. He loves to run around and explore every new sight, sound, smell he encounters. Arlo loves other dogs; especially his foster brothers. He his crate trained and is making amazing progress with potty training. He takes his medication like a champ every morning; just a little doggy spray treat on a spoon does the trick. He's learning basic obedience, including sit, "kennel, and to come when he's called (which he has basically mastered). He's learned how to climb onto the couches and is always down for a good cuddle session when I'm done with work. Arlo makes me laugh constantly and has managed to get himself out of trouble a few times by making the cutest expressions you've probably ever seen. He's a classic Velcro puppy and I know he'll become your favorite new companion just like he's been mine for the last few weeks. Arlo will always be a special needs puppy and he will probably continue to need medications for the rest of his life. No one has really been able to tell us what the future will look like for him, but I know that with all the love and care, he's going to make the most of every day and be the happiest, spunkiest, most loving puppy. If you think Arlo sounds like your kind of dog and you've got a little extra time, patience, and love to give, come meet him! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Hi I'm Freddy, and I have a secret.  I learned that a magical thing called "bath" is actually pretty great.  Foster Mom did a "bath" thing to me and then everything around me started smelling better.  I mean, what sort of wonderful sorcery does she practice?  I'm not sure if other people know about "baths", but maybe Foster Mom can share her secrets. I keep a pretty active schedule between playing with toys and other dogs and making sure the humans around me feel loved.  Even with being a busy guy, I am pretty calm and always sweet.  I get along well with other dogs and even those funny looking dogs called cats.  It only took me about a day to learn how to use a doggy door & go potty outside by myself.  I would love to have a doggie door in my new home and really hope to have a yard to I can run around.  I would do fine living with one other dog friend.  I'm super good on walks and hope that my new family likes to walk me. I was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) this means I require prescription food for life along with a supplement powder and a probiotic once daily. I also get a B12 shot once a week. With this treatment I can be a normal pup and live a long happy life!    I love following my foster humans around and dream about the day I get to follow my furever pawrents around.  I'm a great guy and someone who you won't regret meeting in person.  Does you pack have room for a happy, playful boy?  Please click on my link for more information and let my friends at Demi's know when I can show you my "give me five" trick. Watch Freddie's Video Here! Due to Freddy’s expensive medical needs, the rescue is willing to offer financial assistance so that is not a barrier to finding him the perfect home! Just mention that you will need financial assistance in your application and our adoption team will set that up for you! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website - https://demisanimalrescue.com/demis-adoption-application/  All dogs are spayed/neutered, mircochipped, heartworm tested (if over 6 months old) and up to date on vaccinations (combo shot, bordetella, rabies(if age appropriate)    Support our animals by shopping at our boutique-style thrift store, Demi's Animal Rescue Thrift Store & Cat Lodge - ALL purchases help save lives! 5895 E Evans Ave #102, Denver CO 80222 :: Wed-Mon 11am-6pm ##1940143##

Story
Afina is the cutest munchkin in the world! At just 2-1/2 years old and only 35 pounds, she loves her toys (especially her pineapple squeaky toy) and will always want to play, wiggling her entire body when she is happy.  She also will never complain about sleeping for hours and just laying low. She walks perfectly on a leash, is house trained, and will adjust to any activity level. She can be a bit shy and timid at first, but once she gets comfortable with you, she loves being the sweetest and silliest version of herself. Afina is perfectly content with her small bubble of humans and would prefer not to have unfamiliar people or furry ones in her personal space. She needs to be the only pup in home and prefers the company of women. Once she is able to trust you fully, she is the sweetest little love bug that will provide you ample love and company for a lifetime if you give her the chance.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit, then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $300. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Story
Lionel, at 6.5 months, loves laughing for the camera! Rescued by Good Samaritans from an abusive situation on an out-of-state ranch and transported here, the 25-pound tan beauty may be shy at first blush, but he warms up quickly, revealing how truly sweet and friendly he is. Now he loves snuggling with his foster mom, giving her kisses, resting his head on her, and then prancing peppily about. Agile and athletic, he also loves playing tug-o-war and chase with the resident dog, chewing bones, hard and soft toys, playing fetch and going for walks, honing his leash skills along the way. Still learning to read other dogs’ cues, Lionel has even been known to lick some of their faces! Mainly motivated by food, followed by toys and love, he currently knows “sit,” “no” and “go to crate,” accepts all treats gently, and is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained. At work on his puppy manners, and looking for love, Lionel will thrive in an active adoptive home, preferably with another dog and older children, that will perfect his manners, continue his socialization and complete his training, including his commands, in exchange for his own abiding loyalty and love.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Tenderhearted Toe, at 6.5 months of age, was rescued from an abusive situation in the nick of time. Found by good Samaritans with one of his legs stuck under a heavy metal fence gate, and bleeding profusely, he was brought to a vet, stitched up, and medicated to prevent infection. Now safe and surprisingly sweet despite his traumatic past, the 25-pound blond beauty thrives on his fosters’ attention, snuggling and cuddling with them, resting his head on them, rolling onto his back to be petted, having his belly rubbed and doing the ranger crawl. Friendly and playful, he gets along well with his doggy foster friends, although he does try to steal their treats from them, enjoys chewing bones, taking rides in the car, and going for walks, honing his leash skills along the way (he loves to roll over during a walk). Motivated by food and love, Toe currently knows “sit,” “down” and “no,” accepts all treats gently, is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained, and at work on his puppy manners. Now his fondest wish is to find an especially loving home with patient adopters who will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him safe and secure fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Sweet Shenzi soaks up affection like a thirsty puppy sponge! Rescued by good Samaritans from an abusive situation on an out-of-state ranch and transported here, this 22-pound  tan cutie, now safe in her foster home, lives to love and be loved. Craving the closeness of her foster mom, she adores cuddling and snuggling with her, resting her head on her, and even seeking her out for pets. Social to a “t,” she loves play chasing and wrestling outside with her small and medium-sized doggy foster friends, respecting their cues, and being ever so gentle with each of them. She also loves going for walks alongside them, honing her leash skills with each walk, enjoys playing with toys, chewing on bones and taking rides in the car. Motivated by love, food and toys, Shenzi currently knows “come” and “sit,” is learning to like bananas and apples but loves the small training treats, accepting them gently. Highly intelligent, eager to please and easy to teach, she’s diligently at work on her puppy manners, and is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained. Now all sweet and social Shenzi needs is an especially loving home, perhaps with another playful pup, to perfect her manners, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her content, mentally and physically fur-ever. See additional photos and videos of Shenzi here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
