Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Stray / Public Drop-Off – Española Humane. Approximately 1 year, 10 months old at intake. Completed an 8-week Prison “Paws in the Pen” training program. From the foster: Oakley came to us with built in training. After a couple of months in the slammer (i.e. an 8 week prison training program) he is ready to start his new life. And while he has had a jump start on his training, he still needs work with his leash skills (he is very strong!). But not to worry, he comes with a manual from his trainer so you can continue to help him work on his skills. He has also some instances of resource guarding and should have a structured environment to continue his training. Oakley would probably do best with an active human to keep him busy and no cats. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
King and Ace are two brothers we’re hoping to keep together if possible. They are incredibly sweet, well-mannered dogs, and this decision is being made purely out of love and a desire to find them the best possible home. They are mastidors from a breeder with amazing temperaments—friendly with everyone, great with kids, and very affectionate. They thrive in a home where they’re not left alone all day and can receive regular attention, interaction, and companionship. King and Ace love dog parks, outdoor adventures, and retrieving soccer balls. They’re playful, loyal, and genuinely love people. These boys would do best with a family that has time for them and will make them part of everyday life. If you’re looking for two exceptional dogs with outstanding demeanors and big hearts, King and Ace would be an incredible addition to the right home.

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Ricky #3 | 9-Month-Old Lab Mix | Velcro Puppy With a Big Heart Ricky is a 9-month-old black Lab mix weighing about 35 pounds, and he’s equal parts playful puppy and professional cuddler. He’s almost fully house trained and does a great job letting you know when he needs to go out by standing or pacing near the door. Ricky is crate trained, happily goes in at bedtime (especially when he sees his treat bag come out), and sleeps through the night. He can be left crated for 6–8 hours and has proven himself to be a total angel while home alone. Ricky has a medium energy level and does well with a couple of short walks, playtime, or fetch sessions each day before settling in to relax or nap. He enjoys toys and enrichment, especially flavored Nylabones and tasty treats that keep him happily occupied. Like many young dogs, he can be a bit possessive of certain high-value toys, so it’s best to let him enjoy those on his own and avoid taking toys or his food bowl away while he’s eating. With clear boundaries and respectful handling, he does very well. On leash, Ricky is coming along nicely, though he may pull a bit and is vocal when he sees other dogs, people, scooters, or skateboards. This is reactivity rather than aggression, and he has shown positive interactions with dogs both on and off leash. He’s friendly with cats and very interested in playing, though he can be a bit overenthusiastic and benefits from feline boundary-setting. Ricky hasn’t met kids yet, but with proper guidance and children who understand dog boundaries, he could do well. He knows “sit,” is motivated by food and affection, and responds well to structure and consistency. Like many puppies his age, he’s still working on things like jumping, play biting, and respecting fences (he has jumped a 4-foot fence). If Ricky had his way, he’d be as close to you as physically possible at all times—resting his head on you, flopping his whole body onto your lap, or standing with his front paws on you just to be near. His ideal home is one where he’s allowed on the furniture, gets plenty of play and attention, and has humans who are excited to continue guiding him as he grows into the wonderful dog he’s already becoming.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $425. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Hi Beth, this is the other dog. I’ve been waiting on new photos. His name is Danny. He’s a senior, approximately 10 or 11. He has obedience training too, but it was almost 8 years ago. He’s very sweet, a little hyper, loves his ball, and great with all people. He is dog selective but does well with most females. He’s lived with numerous cats, but he’s not trustworthy with them. HW negative and utd on shots. He’s a farm dog and loves being outside with his people. Please contact Debbie for more information 901-634-5919, email is ddglenn66@aim.com
