Meet Betsy, the super sweet girl who defines the term "nanny dog"— including raising her best friend's puppies! (Just see the photos ; ) She is adoring of others, wonderfully patient, and has the most gentle, vigilant nature. Betty thrives when she is close to other dogs, offering quiet comfort and companionship. If you are looking for a loyal, nurturing, and incredibly tender-hearted companion who will shower every member of your family with devoted attention, Betsy is ready to be your most caring co-pilot. She is pure love, wrapped in fur! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.  Personality | Betsy is learning how t o trust people and how to enjoy being a dog. She loves cuddling up in your pillows, or on your couch. She has learned how fun stuffies are and loves prancing with them around the yard. She is also learning what play means, and has enjoyed running around the yard playing tag. Story | Other Dogs | She adores Mama Mabel and also is friendly with the other dogs in her foster home! Cats | Good with cats! She is being fostered with  kitty and ignores him! Children | Great with kiddos once she warms up!Training | Leash | Activity Level | Health Notes | Betsy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians, and has already started her treatment process. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet gal!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!January 8, 2026, 12:44 am

Despite his high-energy name, he is a gentle soul who prefers a soft chin scratch and a kind word above all else. This affectionate boy is ready to blast into your heart and become the most loyal, curly-coated companion a family could ask for. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Personality | Friendly, snuggly, and absolutely adorable! Lots of typical puppy antics, AND lots of love!Story | This sweet pup comes from a labradoodle breeder in Oklahoma who is closing his operation due to old age and illness. He reached out to the rescue and MHLM agreed to step up and help them find their forever homes. Dogs | Great with other pups! Cats | Hasn't been cat tested, but due to young age, it is assumed they would do well with kitties with boundaries in place. Children | Would love kiddos who will play, snuggle, and give ALL the kisses! Training | In progress! All these babies are working on potty training, crate training, and sleeping through the night. Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.Activity Level | Moderate. Typical puppy who loves to nap, play, repeat! Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Snack-size and a perfect treat no matter the time of day, like my namesake, I reminded my foster family of said sweet baked good upon birth and the name stuck. I keep hearing that I am cute enough to eat up, and I agree! I also have heard that I am a handful when my sister Raisin and I get together - but what do you expect when you mix ingredients for mischief together? Don't let my eyebrows fool you - I'm not in a bad mood and wouldn't know how to pout if I tried! I am bouncy, bright, and a wholesome delight - adopt me today for a little more sweetness in your life!Personality | Friendly, snuggly, playful, and happy! I've been exposed to babies, kitties, children, dogs, new sights/rooms/sounds/etc. and have thrived!Story | In early December, Dahlia (Mama) was found roaming the streets of Texas—very pregnant, tired, and clearly searching for kindness and a safe place to land. Against the odds, a compassionate animal lover opened their home to her, and there Dahlia did what she does best: she trusted, she rested, and she became an incredible mama. She safely delivered and has lovingly raised eight healthy puppies, Muffin being one of them, now happily growing and beginning to need her less each day.Dogs | Great with other pups! Muffin was born into a litter of eight so she knows how to share, play, and nap in a group (and sometimes rowdy!) setting. She would do wonderfully with dog friends in her new home!Cats | Expected to be great with kitties due to her wonderful demeanor and young age. Children | Muffin has been around littles already, and would love kiddos in the home who will play, snuggle, and give ALL the kisses! Training | In progress! Crate training, potty training, and sleeping through the night are all a work in progress.Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. Due to my sweet, soulful nature and the calming influence I have over my siblings, my foster family named me after Chester Bennington. Like him, I like to think my voice holds power - so I make sure to use it only for good, like signaling that it's play time, or time to eat! I am a perfectly well rounded and balanced guy and like to go with the flow. If you're napping, I'll snuggle on in. If you're going outside, I'll happily join. If you're having a snack...well, you get the idea! With one blue and one brown eye, and a little white patch on my chin, I could easily be mistaken for an oracle or wise other worldly creature - and if you adopt me I promise to bring you good fortune and be the calm through any possible life storm!Personality | Friendly, snuggly, playful, and happy! My foster mom says that Max and I are the most laid back of the litter, and while chill, we're still very playful with our siblings!Story | In early December, Dahlia (Mama) was found roaming the streets of Texas—very pregnant, tired, and clearly searching for kindness and a safe place to land.
