We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Hi there, I'm Chester! Due to my sweet, soulful nature and the calming influence I have over my siblings, my foster family named me after Chester Bennington. Like him, I like to think my voice holds power - so I make sure to use it only for good, like signaling that it's play time, or time to eat! I am a perfectly well rounded and balanced guy and like to go with the flow. If you're napping, I'll snuggle on in. If you're going outside, I'll happily join. If you're having a snack...well, you get the idea! With one blue and one brown eye, and a little white patch on my chin, I could easily be mistaken for an oracle or wise other worldly creature - and if you adopt me I promise to bring you good fortune and be the calm through any possible life storm!Personality | Friendly, snuggly, playful, and happy! My foster mom says that Max and I are the most laid back of the litter, and while chill, we're still very playful with our siblings!Story | In early December, Dahlia (Mama) was found roaming the streets of Texas—very pregnant, tired, and clearly searching for kindness and a safe place to land. Against the odds, a compassionate animal lover opened their home to her, and there Dahlia did what she does best: she trusted, she rested, and she became an incredible mama. She safely delivered and has lovingly raised eight healthy puppies, Chester being one of them, now happily growing and beginning to need her less each day.Dogs | Great with other pups! Chester was born into a litter of eight so he knows how to share, play, and nap in a group (and sometimes rowdy!) setting. He would do wonderfully with dog friends in his new home!Cats | Expected to be great with kitties due to his wonderful demeanor and young age. Children | Chester has been around littles already, and would love kiddos in the home who will play, snuggle, and give ALL the kisses! Training | In progress! Crate training, potty training, and sleeping through the night are all a work in progress.Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.Activity Level | Moderate. Typical puppy who loves to nap, play, repeat! Health Notes | Healthy and happy!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in.
