Maggie is an adorable White Labrador Retriever estimated to be 4 years old. She’s a petite girl weighing just 35 lbs. Maggie is a very affectionate girl and absolutely loves being with people. She is ok with dogs but can be a bit selective; she does not like dogs who are high-energy and in her face. Likewise, she does not enjoy the company of small children who insist on playing with her, pull her tail and ears, or tease her. Maggie would be fine with older children (i.e., teenagers) who have learned to respect dogs. Because she has a high prey drive, cats would not want to be around her. An ideal home for Maggie offers a calm environment with plenty of time, attention, and affection to provide to her. Maggie would do fine as an only dog, but a calm, possibly older dog would make a great companion for her and vice versa. A secure, fenced yard would be ideal, so Maggie could enjoy running, exploring, and lounging in the sun. Kenya is an adorable puppy, thought to be a Black Lab Mix. She’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At about 5 months, Kenya weighs 25 lbs.; she's a bit short and stocky! It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of her adult weight, but our best guess is about 45 lbs. This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. Meet Buddy Buddy is a very handsome Black Lab, who was thought to be a senior, when he was pulled from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky. We are not so sure he’s that 10+ year-old as we were told. Sure, Buddy has that frosted face typical of a senior but most likely because he’s had a very tough neglectful life. After just a few days of realizing he’s safe, in a foster home with many canine friends, Buddy has proven to be playful, very sociable, and up for any adventure that comes his way!! He loves to give kisses to his new human as well as canine friends, chewing on chewy bones, barking at annoying people and things (and also when he’s anticipating breakfast or dinner!) and relaxing in the sun. He also likes to play outside with a couple of the younger dogs he has befriended. An ideal family and home for Buddy is one willing to commit to ensuring Buddy receives a good balance of activities, socializing, cuddling and napping. He’d really enjoy the company of one or two other mature adult dogs in the family; he’s good with female and other male dogs!! (We do not know how he is with cats). At times Buddy can be very enthusiastic, jumping up and down (but NOT jumping on people!!); this could be a bit much for smaller children. However he would enjoy the companionship of older kids in the family. A secure fenced yard would also be ideal for Buddy, since he enjoys hanging out in the sun. Overall, Buddy is an absolutely perfect boy….friendly, sociable, well behaved, a quick learner and of course very handsome. Buddy is fully vetted. Fiona has had a great start into this world! We adopted her from a shelter last summer. She is up to date on vaccinations, potty trained, spayed and healthy! We've worked hard and have gone through most of the growing pains raising a pup. (But don't get me wrong...she's still is a pup!) She is food motivated and generally easy to train. She has the softer fur of a collie but her other dominant traits are all lab. We think she will remain on the smaller size. We hope to adopt her out to a family with a decent size yard or are daily walkers.. Fee is $200 and is negotiable once we confirm she will be with a good family/home. We keep her in a playpen because she still needs to be contained or monitored (still chewing). She loves her crate too. Since her littermate has been rehomed...she has shown a greater appreciate for her humans.... she follows us everywhere! She is happy and absolutely joyful. She's a sweet girl but can hold her own when playing with the big dogs (at Camp).

Prior to coming to BAARK, Cesar spent the majority of his life on a homeless dog ranch in Texas where he did not get much one-on-one human contact. It does take him a little time to open up to people but after a couple days in his foster home, he soon became a “velcro dog” following his foster mom everywhere she goes. He is house broken (has had zero accidents in his foster home) and crate trained. He loves to sleep in his crate but does not need to be crated when left alone, or at night; he is free to roam with no issues. Cesar loves being outside and would love his forever family to have a secure, fenced yard. He has great leash manners and enjoys his daily walks, as well. He is good with other dogs with proper introduction and would do well with another calm dog in the home; he would be fine as an only dog too. We do not know how Cesar is with cats. A home without small children would be best for Cesar as he gets a bit nervous with loud noises and fast movements. Cesar is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and his senior bloodwork panel came back perfect. He is also neutered, microchipped and recently had a dental cleaning with appropriate extractions. Due to his having osteoarthritis, typical of larger dogs his age, he would do best continuing to take medications to help. Currently he is taking Omega 3s, Cosequin and Cortaflex Plus that have greatly helped him in his day to day movement. We believe Cesar is also a bit hard of hearing. If you’re looking for a low key, easy going smiley guy who loves to find a soft spot and take a nap, Cesar is your pup!
