He finds himself looking for a new home because the addition of young children (two under 2) in his home have made him uncomfortable. He will do best in a home with children over the age of 7 if children are present. He used to just walk away from the toddler, however, as she has become more ambulatory and his family has a newborn, it is difficult to watch their toddler's interactions with Eddie as closely. Now Eddie will growl at her and show teeth if she doesn’t go away. He is a fabulous dog— he tries to disengage, and when the toddler won’t leave him alone he has chosen not to bite, and his family does not want to risk something happening. Eddie is a very loving and protective dog to his owners. He can be a little slow to warm up to new people in his own home. He is a cuddler and loves the outdoors. Eddie goes to doggy daycare twice a week and is looking for a family who likes to be active. He likes to go for at least one walk a day - they are his favorite part of his day. He is a smart boy - he is "place" trained and "heel" trained while walking. He is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and is good with other dogs. This dog's new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. The adoption fee for this pet is $375.
