Meet Jan, the adorable one-year-old retriever mix who is currently waiting for her forever home at our shelter. Jan is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves snuggling with her favorite humans. However, she is currently experiencing fear and anxiety when it comes to the outside world.
Given her timid nature, Jan would thrive in a home environment where she can feel safe and secure. She would particularly benefit from the companionship of a confident and calm dog or a fenced-in backyard where she can explore and play without feeling overwhelmed.
Jan is incredibly motivated by food, which makes her an excellent candidate for training. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things that she will look to you for. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
