Story
Meet Callie an approximately 2-3 year old black & white lab mix who weighs in over 60lbs. Callie was originally adopted from a southern Indiana shelter and when her owner moved, Callie was left with a relative, who was unable to care for her and brought Callie to Animal Control. From there, she caught the eye of our coordinator and was brought up north! Callie LOVES attention and snuggling. She’s not happy when other dogs get attention, so would be best as an only dog worshipped by a lot of humans. She rides great in the car and quietly observes everything that’s happening. She’s house and crate trained but does like sleeping in bed with her people. Callie is calm during storms but has not yet been tested with cats. She’s been altered and is up-to-date on shots. If you’d like to meet Callie please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
(Aunt) Bee is 3 months old. Born Jan 4th. Pics make her look big built she is not. Currently, only 15 to 20 pounds. She is a black lab with a little white in her chest and a couple toes. She is sweet and smart and playful. She arrived at the rescue when she was 8 weeks old with her 10 siblings. Most of them had sores that were neglected and became infected. She and her sister Thelma Lou are the only ones waiting to be adopted. She is a happy healthy pup. She is just waiting for the hair on her nose to grow back but there is a chance it will be a scar. She is still beautiful! She is crate trained and in house training. The pup is good with other dogs and people. She is spayed and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet these pups, please call or text Lorri at 630-659-8814. Text is preferred. The adoption fee is $250. Story
I hear the train a-coming. It's rolling 'round the bend. And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when… If you know these lyrics, I am pretty sure you know who my namesake is. My name is CASH. I am named after the legendary music artist with a soulful voice. I don’t quite have his singing ability. Actually, I am very quiet. When I do bark, my foster momma says it is pretty wimpy and more of a whine. She likes that I am not very vocal. I was not born in Arkansas like Johnny. My hometown is in southern Indiana. It was there that I became a “Highwayman” when I was walking the roadside as a stray dog. I was picked up by the local animal control officers and threw behind bars. If I had a better singing voice, I could have serenaded the other shelter animals with my rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues”. When I promised to “Walk the Line”, I was released to Rover Rescue. All I could do was “Cry! Cry! Cry!” knowing that my life was going to be so much better. I was going to live in Illinois in a loving foster home until my furever home finds me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to ride in the “General Lee” on the 5 hour trip. My transport north was in a van along with other dogs excited to become Rover Rescue fosters. I am truly a “Man in Black”. However, I do have some white on my legs and chest along with some black spots. The vet thinks that I may be a Black Labrador Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. My brown eyes are my most striking feature. They are the color of warm cognac. You just get lost when you stare into them. I currently weigh 53 pounds with an ideal weight being around 57. I am a charming young adult, around the ages of 15 to 18 months. I am one of the most affectionate dogs. I love to snuggle with my people. When on the couch, I will join you and will have to be as close as possible, if not in your lap. I will not be happy unless I get to sleep with you. I just want to be your cuddle bug. All I have to do is look at you with my big brown eyes and I get my way. My foster momma thinks I would be a great fit for just about any household. Even though there are no small children in my foster home, I seem to really like kids of all ages. I was very gentle when I met children at a recent adoption event. I am housebroken and crate trained. My crate is my security blanket. I will run and hide in it when I am unsure of loud noises. I eat all my meals in my crate. I will patiently wait inside if my meal is delayed. When I first arrived in my current home, I would spend my alone time and bedtime crated. Now that I have proved that I am not having accidents and am not destructive, the door is hardly ever shut. When I am contained in my crate, I am very quiet. I would love to have a June, Willie or Waylon dog in my furever home. I have been introduced to several dogs and have been friendly with all. I match the other dog’s activity level. When there was a 4 month old puppy in the house who was a burning “Ring of Fire”, I was a great playmate/babysitter. Now that there is only the 8 year old resident dog, I am much more calm like “Cool Water”. I do enjoy playing with toys and will play catch. I even bring the ball back for another throw. I will need a home without any cats. I am way too interested in birds, squirrels and rabbits also. A fenced yard will be needed to keep me safe. I do like to follow my nose. I walk well on a leash and enjoy car rides. I ride in the backseat, but will put my head on your shoulder. “Well, Alright” if you are looking to add a country gem to your household, please consider me, CASH. At least, I am not “A Boy Named Sue!” My foster momma, Darla, would love to talk to you on her home phone of 630/406-9405. The adoption fee for CASH is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive

Story
Meet Bonnie she's a 2-4 year old lab mix, possibly greyhound as she's on the sleeker side and has a long thin nose but again this is just a guesstimate. Bonnie is a nice girl who's housetrained and trusted to not be crated. She gets along fine with the other dogs here and can get quite playful at times otherwise she's very content sitting on her favorite spot on the couch just watching everyone. Bonnie seems to like to be around people so a home where she's not left alone for long periods at a time would be best for her. If I had one negative thing to say she can get a little barky outside but she listens well to quiet. She really is a very nice girl and will make a nice family pet. Bonnie is spayed and up to date vaccines. Her adoption fee is $225.00. If you would like to hear more about Bonnie please call Jody at 708 268-6965. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive
