Please note: Penny & Ace are a bonded pair and need to be adopted togetherPenny may seem simple at first glance, but she carries immeasurable value. This senior gal is pure sweetness in a shiny copper coat, the kind of dog who reminds you that sometimes the most priceless things come in the humblest packages.Penny moves through life at a slow, steady pace—she’s not rushing to cash in on anything, just happy to follow her people from room to room and “collect” gentle pets along the way. Food is her currency of choice, and you’ll often find her politely stationed in the kitchen, hoping for a tasty deposit in her bowl. She’s house-trained, leash-trained, and has a heart richer than any bank. On walks, she strolls calmly, never making a fuss over squirrels, dogs, or loud noises. Penny is submissive and gentle with other dogs, occasionally showing a playful spark when her buddy invites her into a little tug-of-war or fetch game.Penny is the definition of a treasure: quiet, well-mannered, and incredibly loyal once she feels safe. She’s been through big changes after spending her whole life with one family, but in just a short time she’s already showing how adaptable and resilient she can be.If you’re looking for a pair of dogs who can balance “puppy joy” with “senior wisdom,” Penny (and her buddy Ace) are your winning hand. They are ready to deal out loyalty, laughter, and love—no bluffing needed. Penny & Ace would love to meet you.Interested in adopting this dog? Please note: Ace & Penny are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.Meet Ace – the Top Card in the Deck!At roughly 9 years old, Ace proves that age is just a number—he’s still scoring points like a pro. Whether it’s fetching a ball with the energy of a rookie or strolling the neighborhood like a seasoned champ, Ace always plays his cards right. He walks like a dream on a leash, checks in often, and doesn’t let squirrels, bikes, or loud noises throw him off his game.Ace is completely house trained, knows his basic commands, and has a few tricks up his paw. He’s the kind of dog who greets you with a toy in his mouth—because in his book, life’s always more fun when there’s a little play involved. While he’s eager to join in the fun, he also has the calm, steady presence of a true veteran. If you’re looking for a pair of dogs who can balance “puppy joy” with “senior wisdom,” Ace (and his buddy Penny) are your winning hand. Story
Comet is an adorable puppy, calm and a real sweetheart. He is thought to be a Black Lab Mix. His estimated date of birth is May 18th, 2023. At 5 months, Comet weighs 26lbs; his adult weight is not known. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Comet will become as an adult…his new family must be willing to accept him, no matter what his adult size! Comet is very smart, a quick learner, very alert and playful, but overall pretty calm for a young boy!! This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. When joining our rescue program, Comet appeared happy, calm & gentle, very friendly, and eager to move on to a better life!! He’s now ready to move along to a forever home of his own! Comet is very sociable, playful, and is great with dogs. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Comet is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Comet to be his best self! A secure fenced yard is ideal as is another younger or middle-aged pup in the family. Comet is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. His neuter is included in his adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and adopts only locally.

Story
Maggie is an adorable White Labrador Retriever estimated to be 4 years old. She’s a petite girl weighing just 35 lbs. Maggie is a very affectionate girl and absolutely loves being with people. She is ok with dogs but can be a bit selective; she does not like dogs who are high-energy and in her face. Likewise, she does not enjoy the company of small children who insist on playing with her, pull her tail and ears, or tease her. Maggie would be fine with older children (i.e., teenagers) who have learned to respect dogs. Because she has a high prey drive, cats would not want to be around her. An ideal home for Maggie offers a calm environment with plenty of time, attention, and affection to provide to her. Maggie would do fine as an only dog, but a calm, possibly older dog would make a great companion for her and vice versa. A secure, fenced yard would be ideal, so Maggie could enjoy running, exploring, and lounging in the sun. Maggie is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Maggie and possibly adding her to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 to obtain an adoption application. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts only local to the Chicago area.

Kenya is an adorable puppy, thought to be a Black Lab Mix. She’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At about 5 months, Kenya weighs 25 lbs.; she's a bit short and stocky! It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of her adult weight, but our best guess is about 45 lbs. This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. She is thought to have been born around March 10th of this year. When joining our rescue program, Kenya appeared happy, calm & gentle, very friendly, and eager to move on to a better life!! Kenya is very sociable, playful, and is great with dogs. She may be a bit too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Kenya is one able to assimilate the energy of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Kenya to be her best self! A fenced yard is ideal as is another younger or middle-aged pup in the family. Kenya is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). Story
Celeste is an adorable puppy, but is quite the firecracker….she’s playful, energetic, and VERY active!! She is thought to be a Black Lab Mix; she is very petite. Her very lean structure may be due to her high energy level! And desire to stay active at all times. In addition to running and playing with other dogs, she’s obsessed with water and cannot get enough of playing in it! Celeste’s estimated date of birth is April 1st, 2023. At 5 months, she weighs 25lbs; her adult weight is not known but estimated to be 40 or so lbs. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Celeste will become as an adult…her new family must be willing to accept her, no matter what her adult size! Celeste is very smart, a quick learner, very alert and energetic and playful. If you are looking to energize your household with a puppy…….Celeste is your girl! This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. When joining our rescue program, Celeste appeared happy, confident, very friendly, and eager to move on to a better life!! She’s now ready to move along to a forever home of her own! Celeste is great with dogs but does play pretty rough with them. Her new family definitely needs to work with her on manners and social skills. And be fully capable of establishing and consistently enforcing the rules of the household using positive reinforcement techniques. While good with other dogs, Celeste would definitely be too much for an older dog in the household. An ideal family for Celeste is one able to assimilate the ongoing energy, enthusiasm, and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Celeste to be the best version of herself! A secure fenced is required for this young pup; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family would also be advantageous. Celeste is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this youngster to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and adopts only locally.

Story
Letti is a sweet, loyal girl who loves being near her people — whether she’s napping nearby or happily chewing on her favorite toy. She’s a cuddle bug at heart and is always ready to snuggle up on the couch or ask for some one-on-one attention (sometimes a little enthusiastically!).Letti enjoys spending time outdoors, especially chasing leaves and exploring the yard. She can be a bit shy on walks, so a patient adopter with treats and a secure harness will help her build confidence. She’s a smart girl who responds well to redirection and enjoys training sessions — they’re a great way to engage her curious mind and strengthen your bond. Letti does best with slow introductions to new people and dogs and will thrive with someone who understands her need to feel safe and secure. While confinement isn’t her favorite, Letti does well when given a comfy space and the freedom to relax. She’s learning that being alone is okay and shows her gentle, loyal nature by waiting patiently for her person to come home.Letti is a loving companion who will blossom with a dog-savvy adopter ready to give her the structure, understanding, and affection she deserves. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your devoted shadow — always close by, ready to love and be loved.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Hi there, Charlamagne here!Let me introduce myself, I am happy, go lucky guy who loves life. At a few months shy of 9 years old, they say I am a senior, but I am young at heart and ready to enjoy life.Give me a toy, especially one that squeaks and life is good. I am not really interested in playing fetch, but I do like my toys. I also love spending time in the yard and if I get to chase one of those little critters, I think you call them squirrels that is super fun. Walks are nice too and I am practicing my manners when on a leash. When we are not playing a snuggle or a good belly rub is very nice.In the house I am a great guest, if I do say so myself. I will leave your stuff alone; I know to ask to go outside to do my business and if you think it is necessary I will sleep in my crate......though I would much rather sleep on the couch if that is allowed. A canine friend would be ok though I am not really looking for a playmate so would be happy to have all of your attention. As you can see from my pictures, I always have a smile on my face. I would love to meet you and spread some happiness at your house. Hope you come to see me soon.Interested in adopting this dog?
