Story
Theresa is 1 year and 4 months old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, is heartworm negative, and on prevention. Theresa is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, plays well with other dogs, never meets a stranger, is gentle, and very affectionate. This sweet girl is queen of the side eye and just oh so precious. She has traveled with her foster family from Mobile, AL to Wyoming and had a blast. She met so many people and pups and loved them all. She does have a habit of giving hugs but they are so gentle they have been welcomed. Theresa is a sweet and gentle soul looking for someone to call her own. Theresa is happy to stay home and chill, go for a walk, visit a local brewery, take a 4000 mile road trip, play in the backyard, visit a dog park and play with friends, or watch a movie. The person or family that adopts Theresa will get a real gem. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Kitty is a sweet, approximately 6-month old lab/terrier mix that was found abandoned at a hunting camp in Northern Alabama. She has one beautiful light blue eye; and her coat is a dark, dark chocolate color. She was VERY skinny and very afraid of people initially when she was found, but very quickly warmed up to her foster parents and is a happy go lucky puppy at the house! Kitty LOVES other dogs and plays well with them. She is doing well with crate and house training but she is still very much a puppy and will need continued training with this! Kitty is learning to play with toys and enjoys being near her people. She can still be a little scared of strangers but she is not aggressive - she simply avoids them until she feels comfortable (which only takes a few minutes). Kitty currently weighs 19 pounds but needs to gain 2-3 more pounds to be at an ideal, healthy weight for her age. Fully grown, we think she will be 30-40 pounds but only time will tell! She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, tested negative for heartworms, microchipped, and started on heartworm and flea prevention. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Hey all, I'm Lil Mac! I absolutely love to run, jump, chew, lick and just play all the time! I'm not shy at all and will come running up to you and let you know I'm ready to be petted! Because I came to the Shelter when I was a baby, I need help with training (house, leash and crate). But because I'm so clever it won't take any time at all to get me used to living with you in our new fur-ever home. My ONLY flaw is that I don't do well on car rides, I shouldn't eat before a long ride because It won't stay down long. Other than that, you'll be amazed at what a good boy I am! We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. They would love to bring Lil Mac to his forever home. Please adopt.

Story
Ziggy was a stray who was found looking for food on the side of the road. He was eating carnage, and he was very undernourished. He had an owner, we found out, that had not been taking proper care of him. Ziggy is house trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and is very good with other dogs, people, and children. Ziggy is very “chill.” He is shy at first until he warms up, and then he is super sweet. He is very laid back. We think that he is perfect in every way! Ziggy was in foster care, but now he is being boarded. He wants a forever home so badly! Ziggy had heartworms and completed his heartworm treatment on October 6, 2023. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Emmy is shy and playful. She has been spayed, vaccinated, chipped, is approx. over 1 year old. This beautiful Lab/Doberman mix girl walks on leash.  Emmy needs a gentle and patient soul to help her through her traumatic past. She needs patience for her to get comfortable with people & kids but once she bonds she is playful and loving! She will know basic obedience, loose leash heeling, off leash recall and good manners inside the home and in the public. Emmy still needs patience, consistency and work kennel and potty training because of her difficult past. Emmy has some prey drive and should not be homed with very small dogs, any cats or small animals. After being a little shy at first, she quickly gets over this and becomes very loving and trusted with all people and kids. Because of her initial fear, she should be with someone who has owned dogs before and knows their behavior. Emmy would be a great dog to be at home and go for walks. She is capable but needs patience in the public and on walks, to work on her fear and confidence boosting. Emmy has gone through a basic training program! In this program she has learned proper heeling on a leash, basic obedience, place command, off leash recall, no bolting out of doors, people and dog socialization, kennel/potty training and more! After adoption process is finalized, the new owners will work with the trainer 1-on-1 for 2 hours to learn what Emmy has learned in the program and how to keep up with training after going home. This will all be included in your adoption fee! ##1862108##

Meet Winston, the resilient 4-month-old black Lab mix who is truly a miracle puppy. Thanks to ARF fighting for this baby when he was diagnosed with Parvo. After a week-long hospital stay, Winston's spirit remains unbroken, and he's now absolutely thriving in his foster home. He's a cuddle enthusiast who adores snuggling up with his foster humans and loves playing with and sleeping near his foster fur siblings. Although Winston has found a lot of comfort in his siblings throughout a very stressful start to his life, he now sees the value in his human family members and follows them around like a little shadow.  This delightful pup is not only charming but also incredibly well-behaved. He's mastered the art of crate training, sleeps peacefully through the night, and is just a whisker away from conquering potty training entirely. He loves to chew on toys, run circles around his foster siblings, and nap on someone’s lap before starting all over again. Winston's playful energy is balanced by his laid-back demeanor, making him the perfect companion for playtime and relaxation. This pup is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and neutered. Story
Hi there! My name is Serena and I'm about 1 years old. I weigh a whopping 77#s so I guess you can say I'm a big girl. I'm a black Lab mixed with Shepherd. As you can see by my pictures, I am all black except my paws, I mean my giant paws, are sable coloring like a Shepherd. Nobody knows my past history as I was found as a stray and picked up by a local animal shelter. Did you know large breed dogs and if their fur is black, we are the last to be rescued? Well, I must have won the jackpot that day because I got something called a Freedom Ride. Treasured Animal Rescue said give us a silly girl that needs a Freedom Ride. I'm in a foster home that has other dogs, cats and I do very well with them. My first couple days I had to learn so much. 1st, my name and then I had to learn the routine of a foster home. I didn't like going into a kennel, but I then realized my kennel (crate) is where I get my meals, nice treats and I catch up on my beauty sleep. Now, all my foster Mom has to say is "Serena, go kennel". I'm a real lady where I will tell you I have to go potty. No accidents from me. I will whine or give out a bark. Oh, let's talk about my bark. In the house I am very quiet unless all the dogs are barking but inside, I'm quiet. Outside? Oh different story. My foster home is right by a school and when we get to play outside and its school time, we see all these kids running around and lots of cars. That is when I bark, and I have a really loud bark. Like a locomotive bark but hello? I'm a Shepherd and Shepherd's tell you things when we bark. That's our DNA. I haven't been around little kids, but my foster family thinks I should have a caution. Not because I will be mean. I take food very gentle but when I get excited, I do jump and remember I noted my weight - that's a lot of weight jumping on a little tyke. I only jump when I get excited. But you tell me "Serena, down" I get down. See, not only am I pretty - I'm a smart cookie! Silly Serena is my nickname because I get silly. All the fosters are always posing for pictures. My family says we got to get good pictures to put in your profiles. Well, that's when I put on my silly hat. I know SIT and then I'll give you one of my paws and then just for the heck of it I go silly, and I roll over on my back and get you to rub my belly. So, if you are looking for a big dog to make you laugh but yet, let me be a lap dog than I am your gal. I could use a little help in walking on a leash. I do pull but not only am I beautiful I am also smart so I know in a short time I will learn walking on a leash. When I see other dogs (mostly big dogs) I do get very excited and will bark some more. Small dogs are more my speed and I make friends with them right away. So, what do you say. Ready for silliness? All you got to do is complete an application and our fun times begin! xoxo, Serena Serena is located in our foster home in Aurora. To meet this silly gal, please complete an adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-dog-adoption/ Please visit our website www.treasuredanimalrescueinc.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
