Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption.Adoption fee: 300Since you're reading this, you're obviously looking for a new best friend-and, hey, so am I! I don't care how old you are or what you look like, but in case those things matter to you, I'm 10 weeks old currently (1/25/2024). My perfect match would be someone who loves to play and has time to teach me all the things I need to know about being a good doggie! When I'm not admiring your every move, I'd love to be playing with other dogs. I have also met kitties, they are kinda weird but I'm okay with it! I especially love human kiddos, they give good hugs and always seem to have snacks! So, what do you say? Wanna be besties?February 21, 2024, 8:14 pm

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing for one of our rescue partners Allen county animal rescue facility. They are a rural animal control shelter near Iola KS. Many dogs are brought to their facility after being found as strays, dumped, surrendered, or brought in by the city. However, because they are in such a rural town, they have a very small pool of adopters and have a hard time finding homes for the dogs in the shelter. Our promise as their rescue partner is that should someone apply through us, we will handle any transportation needed to get the dog to their forever home, we will assist with home visits, dog intros and anything needed to help get these dogs out of the shelter and into loving homes. Please fill out our online dog adoption application if you are interested in adopting this pet. Meet Fern! She is one of the longest residents at ACARF and is tired of waiting in the shelter! It is so hard to find people that show interest in Black dogs and Fern is struggling because of this. Fern is dog friendly and participates in playgroups at the shelter, he is a little shy when meeting new people (especially men) but one she knows she can trust you she is as sweet as can possibly be! Fern loves to cuddle and will sit in right in your lap if you let her! Fern has watched many dogs come and go, it's her turn now!February 21, 2024, 8:14 pm

Her adoption fee is $175. Carly is the happiest girl around and she can't wait to meet you! She has been passed over for awhile at ACARF through no fault of her own. She loves to play with other dogs, does well with kids, and even does well with cats! Carly doesn't know a stranger and will be in your lap in two seconds flat! Her talents include: tap dancing, long jump/high jump, and singing! Carly is a very athletic dog and will need to be kept on a leash while outside. She does well on a leash, so it's not too difficult to keep her on one. Otherwise, this girl is a fantastic dog and would make an excellent adventure buddy. February 21, 2024, 8:14 pm

Story
Apollo is a big goofy boy with a big heart. He was a rescue that was found locked inside an abandoned house and nearly starving 5-6 years ago. Since then, he has been my aunts loyal companion and protector (he is very vocal about new people coming into the house but quickly calms down). Unfortunately, due to health issues, she is unable to take care of him anymore. Apollo would ideally be the only dog in the house (he does okay with small dogs that are immediately submissive to him though) and have a private, enclosed, yard. He also does great with kids! He tolerates cats well too. He has been staying with another family member with a shared yard with other dogs for the past month. He is quickly wearing out his welcome due to no fault of his own (having to coordinate with the other dog owners to take turns going outside and being a big clumsy dog in a small space). He has a lot of love to give the right household!

Story
Ella is a very sweet dog. She is 5 years old. She’s very cuddly and loves to play fetch. She’s pretty good around other dogs and cats. Good around kids. Except she is very food aggressive. For this reason I think she is more suitable for someone without children. But I have 2 children and she’s never harmed or tried to bite them I’ve just always fed her away from my kids. I’m a single father and starting a new job next month so I will not have the time to give Ella the attention she deserves. I’m not necessarily looking for a rehoming fee as long as I feel she will be taken care of.

Story
Meet Kelce! This adorable 13 week old pup is living in his lover era - much like his name sake! Kelce absolutely loves humans, and other dogs, and are curious why cats look (but don't act!) like dogs (meaning he's a little unsure about the cats he's spent time with, but would eventually likely try to get them to play)! Kelce is kennel trained and is working on potty training. He would love a family who is active, or that have younger kids he can chase in the backyard! Kelce's adoption fee is $250 and comes with all age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, and heartworm prevention. To meet Kelce, submit an app today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog

Duke was surrendered to us after his owner fell ill and could no longer care for him. He is a sweet, happy fur-ball and is looking for a place to roam around and play with other canine companions. He loves stuffies, romping around the yard, and getting all the treats! Duke is great with other dogs and people of all shapes and sizes, but says 'no thank you' to the feline friends. Duke can be a bit of a flight risk, so he needs to be supervised in the yard when he's out! Duke is an all around great dog that would love to be your best friend forever. February 21, 2024, 8:14 pm
