Pet Location: Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I am from a hoarding situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with many people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn.- I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.- Once I warm up, I`m described as sweet and easy-going!- Chews, Kong-like feeders, puzzle toys—help to keep me entertained!- I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends I have a fenced-in yard since I`m still a little nervous of new environments.- For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Woof to meet you! I’m Brody!I’m a 3-year-old black lab who’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary. I came from a hoarding situation, so new people and environments can make me a little nervous at first. Because of that, I’m looking for someone patient and understanding who will let me move at my own pace. I’m also enrolled in Confidence College, where I’m working on building my bravery and learning how to feel more comfortable each day.Once I warm up, though, I’m described as a sweet and easygoing guy who just wants to enjoy life with his people. One of the best ways to bond with me is through walks. I absolutely love getting outside, exploring new places, and taking in all the sights and smells; Adventures are kind of my thin

Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats and little patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today!

Story
Harley is a soon-to-be 12-year-old Lab mix who was given up by her owners because they fell on hard time. It broke their hearts and hers. Harley just wants to be loved you and she will love you in return. Our vet's office, our groomer and everyone who meets her falls in love with her because she is such a great dog. She loves to be brushed and when you try to stop, she'll put her hand on your hand "like don't stop." She is very laid back and only has gotten on the couch once. She is, however, the ultimate couch potato. She is crate-trained, potty-trained, and wonderfully well-mannered. Harley has grown up around children of all ages and has a calm, loving personality and likes other dogs and cats.. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.
