I ended up at the shelter because my previous owner had more animals than they could care for&#44 but they say Im a shy yet very sweet soul-and I think that describes me perfectly.<br/><br/>Im a calm guy who loves to cuddle. Wherever my humans are in the house&#44 thats where youll usually find me. I like to be involved in whatevers going on and just enjoy being close. I also love running around the yard and playing for hours with other dogs-especially my siblings-but when the day winds down&#44 my favorite place is curled up sleeping on someone.<br/><br/>Id be happiest in a home with other dogs to play with and keep me company. Since I can be a little shy at first&#44 Id do best with older children who understand giving me time to feel comfortable.<br/><br/>If youre looking for a gentle&#44 loving companion who wants to be part of your everyday life&#44 I might just be your Buddy.

Story
This is Charlie. He’s a bigger boy at about 90 pounds and 13.5 years old. He is neutered and taken to the vet in October 2025 who said he’s in excellent health for his age. He enjoys daily walks of 1-2 miles, but has some difficulty getting up and down stairs especially if they are not carpeted. His rabbies vaccine is current as well. His owners were family friends of ours and sadly in tragic car accident in October 2025. We took him in temporarily to help find him a home but are no longer able to care for him. Charlie is used to always being around people as his primary care givers were retired senior citizens who spent most of their time at home with Charlie so he does not do well when left at home alone for extended periods of time and unfortunately we are at work/school all day during the week. He loves to be on the floor sleeping by your side or by himself outside basking in the sunshine. Ideal sweetheart for someone who works from home and wants a low key lovable senior pup!

He loves sticks and balls and loves to go for walks takes time to know people new has a warm heart don't like out door cats drinks a lot of water, he also needs a lot of room like a big yard He is 3yr all his stuff will go with him he loves the fall and snow date of birth is may/3/2022. Milk bones is the key to his heart to warm up to him. I name him after harry potter he just like that dog in mind he stand behind you hoping you will keep him safe but he a good boy .I just want the best for my dog. We played outside in the snow on Thursday loves the snow he does. loll

Meet Better Than Burt Reynolds! Burt is the quintessential renaissance man! He’s got it all. He’s tall, dark, and very handsome; while maintaining a goofy playfulness. He loves wrestling with his foster sisters, snuggling with his foster Mom, and taking long meandering walks. Despite his size he is not a bed hog and can curl up on the sofa with three other large bodies and fit just fine. He is house and kennel trained. He ignores the three cats at his foster home but would sure like to chase the chickens. His zoomies are epic and he’ll need trips to the park if you live in an apartment or have a small yard. Burt is incredibly good natured and will fit nicely into almost any home. Upon arrival he was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis, a condition that occurs when dogs are bitten by an infected tick. He has received treatment and has experienced no further issues since. If necessary in the future, certain antibiotics, particularly doxycycline, are highly effective. This treatment is the preferred choice as it is readily available and generally well tolerated. Burt's adoption fee is $200 and includes age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm medication, microchip and spay/neuter surgery. Fill out an adoption application at lucky13rescue.org.
