Story
Meet Birch, an adorable young pup with a gentle heart who’s still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. This sweet girl missed out on early socialization, so many everyday things—like new people, sounds, and environments—can feel overwhelming to her. Birch is looking for someone patient and understanding, who will move at her pace and help her build confidence one small step at a time.Birch would really benefit from a calm, confident dog sibling to show her the ropes and help her learn that new experiences can be fun. With time, stability, and lots of kindness, this nervous little girl has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. She just needs the right person (and dog friend!) to help her feel safe and supported as she discovers the good life.

Story
Close to being just another shelter statistic— he’s now sitting here watching out the window hoping his people finally find him. Found on the streets and pretty likely dumped.. Jasper and his sister were brought into a crowded Houston shelter. Terrified, curled up in a corner hiding, struggling with skin issues — he was placed on the euthanasia list — his future looked heartbreakingly bleak… But thanks to our rescue partner and an amazing foster who stepped up to help, Jasper got out just in time. Fast forward to today->> and this sweet, soulful retriever mix is finally showing the world who he really is. Jasper is now @ 7 months old —  He still can be a little shy at first, but blossoming more every day in foster care. He LOVES the other dogs, adores cuddles, and follows his people around like the cutest little shadow. He truly is a gentle old soul in a puppy body and he even likes the kitty cat!!!  His foster says: “He’s growing like a weed — silly, sweet, and such a joy. I can’t wait to see who his lucky family will be.” With his Dorito ears, big clompy paws, and that soft, thoughtful temperament, this boy will absolutely steal your heart. 7 mo / ~20+ lbs Labby mix fostered with kids, dogs & cats too endearing old-soul temperament / a thinker very playful with other dogs loves other dogs in the home — a follower & canine BFF altered, vaccinated & microchipped fostered locally in Haverhill, MA -Apply today!!!  Applications are on our websitegalsbestpal.com Please share and help him find his family *Please note: We're an all-volunteer organization, and incomplete applications cannot be processed.* If you're interested in adopting a GBP rescue PAL, please submit an application through the link below. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Older children only (16+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesHarley Memphis is a sweet, loyal, sensitive soul who is looking for a patient and loving family to live out his golden years. He recently underwent two major surgeries and is looking for a home that will continue to meet his unique medical needs. Although he has some physical limitations, he does not let this bring him down and is enjoying his life to the fullest!A few of Harley’s favorite things include snuggling with his humans, going for short walks, zoomies in small spaces, and spray cheese! Due to his mobility issues, Harley would do best in a home with minimal stairs and that has carpeting as he sometimes slips on hardwood floors. He would love a home with lots of soft dog beds, as he is unable to jump onto furniture. He does well with new dogs after proper introductions, but should have monitored interactions with other dogs, especially when approached from behind, until he feels more confident. Harley is currently thriving in his foster home and does best with structure and boundaries. He has met cats and would do best in a cat-free home as he is a bit too interested in his feline friends. Harley has met children and would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy teens (16+) who will respect his personal space and not make sudden, loud noises or movements. Harley is fully house and crate trained. Harley enjoys having his crate door open so he can come and go as he pleases. He rotates through his crate and his favorite dog beds when his foster is at work. Harley enjoys going for short walks around the neighborhood and walks well on leash. Harley is looking for a quiet family who will provide him with structure, love, and support so he can live a life of leisure!Note: Harley recently started physical therapy and will be looking for a home that will continue to be committed to his care and accommodate his physical needs. He currently receives PT in Westford, MA so if you are a resident of MA we can discuss our Foster to Adopt (FTA) program if you are willing to help him finish out his PT sessions (free of charge) at his current clinic! If you are interested, but outside of that geographic range, please don’t hesitate to reach out as we can start our Meet & Greet process to see if he is a good fit while he finishes out his sessions! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.November 14, 2025, 12:31 am

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, likely yesGood with kids: YesCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: YesMeet the sweetest pup with the most soulful eyes that y9u can get lost in. Justine Sparks is a playful puppy, but listens very well and is happiest when snuggling at your side. Justine is looking for a home that’s ready for all things puppy, where she can grow into a loving and loyal companion.Justine loves other dogs and is excited to meet them. She plays well (with the expected puppy energy!) and also reads social cues well for such a young girl. Justine hasn’t met cats yet but would likely do well with them—she is inquisitive and still developing her confidence, so she would probably let cats make the rules. She enjoys meeting new people and will approach to say hello, taking a minute to investigate a new person before rolling over for a belly rub. Justine has lived with older kids and met lots of neighborhood kids on walks, and she quickly warms up and is great with them all. She would likely do well with kids of any age with appropriate introductions and boundaries. Justine would do great with a canine sibling or without. This smart gilr is house trained and crate trained! She is crated for periods during the day and consistently overnight and is learning to settle in immediately and keep herself entertained with a favorite toy. Despite being a little nervous around traffic noise, she walks well on her leash and has a blast going on walks to explore the neighborhood and meet new friends. Justine is a smart girl and a fast learner who enjoys mastering new skills with the support and love of her humans. If you're looking to add a spark of love to your life, then look no further than Justine Sparks! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted.
