Story
Meet Archie 🍫🐾 Sensitive heart. Playful soul. A work in progress worth the wait. ✨ Archie is a handsome chocolate Labradoodle who came to us after being surrendered due to crate-related reactivity. Our behavior team is actively working with him and we’re already seeing encouraging progress! We’re happy to talk through what this behavior looks like and how it’s being addressed—transparency and support are part of Archie’s journey. 🌱 A few things about him: • Shy and cautious with strangers—he needs time, patience, and multiple meet-and-greets to feel safe 🐾 • Low confidence right now, but steadily building with positive reinforcement 💛 • Sweet, loving, and affectionate once he trusts you 🫶 • Playful and goofy with a fun-loving personality that shines when he’s comfortable 😄 • Certified fetch fanatic—nothing beats a good game of fetch 🎾 • Attention hog who loves being included and close to his people 🥰 • An adventure buddy at heart who will thrive in an active home 🌲 • Behavior training in progress—he’s learning important life skills every day 🎓 • Still learning the ropes, but eager to succeed with consistency and guidance 💪 • Will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable ✂️ • Best suited for an experienced, dog-savvy household 🏡 • Adult-only or teenager-only home preferred—he needs calm, predictable interactions 👤 Archie is a wonderful example of a dog who just needs understanding and the right environment to truly shine. With patience, structure, and continued support, he has the potential to be an incredible companion. If you’re willing to invest the time to earn his trust, Archie will reward you with loyalty, joy, and plenty of love. 💫 📍 The Center for Animal Health and Welfare PA Kennel License #02941 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18042

Story
Excellent family dogMeet Sadie – Proof That Age Is Just a Number  Sadie may have a little gray on her muzzle, but don’t let that fool you—this 10-year-young, 60-lb girl still has the heart and energy of a pup half her age! She loves to run, play, and be part of the action, making her a wonderful match for an active family. One of Sadie’s greatest talents? Snuggling. When playtime is over, she’s more than happy to curl up next to you and soak up all the love. She’s also a dream house guest: fully house-trained, crate-trained, and trustworthy enough to be left alone uncrated—no destruction, no drama. Sadie adores kids and adults and gets along well with other dogs (though she’d do best without tiny dogs—she’s a little too enthusiastic and might accidentally step on them!). Sadie at a Glance: Age: 10 years Weight: 60 lbs Temperament: Fantastic with kids, adults, and most dogs Training: House-trained, crate-trained, knows basic commands Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who’s past the puppy chaos but still full of life, Sadie could be your perfect match! Questions? Email amy@doggieharmony.org *** To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.doggieharmony.org/forms) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.January 30, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
Please contact Marta (ultramarta@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Hazel's journey to find her forever home has been one of resilience and love. This beautiful girl had a tragic start when, at just a few weeks old, she and her siblings became part of a court case in which their owners were charged with severe abuse and neglect. In April 2023, Hazel and two of her siblings came into my care as foster babies. Since then, she has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Hazel is 2 years old, weighs approximately 50 pounds and has been spayed. She is up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is crate trained & housebroken.  Hazel is an obedient girl and she knows basic commands such as Sit, Wait, Treat, Walk and Get In. She sleeps 8 hours a night in her crate and never makes a peep. She plays well with her canine siblings and other dogs she knows.  She has medium energy, walks well on a leash and loves to take walks around the neighborhood. Hazel loves people that she knows, but she needs time to warm up to new people. She is a timid girl and likes to take things slowly. She is food motivated which makes her easier to train. She loves to chase squirrels, so a watchful eye is needed. She has never been tested with cats. She would love a fenced backyard because she loves to run and play with the ball. If she runs in the yard for 10-15 mins then she’ll curl up and sleep.  If she doesn’t have a yard, she would do fine with a couple 1.5-2 mile walks per day with additional pee breaks throughout the day. Hazel would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion.  Her main need is for loving people.  She loves to sit close to you while you’re working or watching TV. Hazel has shown incredible strength despite her difficult beginnings. She deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy and love to a new person or family.July 11, 2025, 4:36 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Pepper is a tiny pup with a big personality and just the right amount of sass. He may be the smallest of his litter, but don’t let that fool you — this confident little guy is curious, brave, and always ready to join the fun. Pepper was born missing one of his back paws, and he already shows just how adaptable puppies can be. He runs, plays, and wrestles with other dogs without hesitation and doesn’t let this slow him down one bit. As he grows, a simple, planned amputation around 6 months of age is recommended to support his long-term comfort and mobility. Castoff Pet Rescue will help cover the cost of amputation. Puppies with this condition typically adjust incredibly well, and Pepper is expected to thrive as a happy, active tripod dog. This sweet boy loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and brings energy and laughter wherever he goes. His sleek black coat, adorable black speckling on his gray chest and paws, and expressive eyes give him a look that’s impossible to forget. What Pepper lacks in size, he more than makes up for in heart, resilience, and charm. He’s the kind of puppy who reminds you that being different can be pretty special. Pepper is the last of his litter needing a home and he looking for an adopter who is open-minded, committed, and excited to support him as he grows into the amazing dog he’s already proving he can be. Age:  10 weeks Weight: 7 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, cats and older respectful kids because of his size Training: crate-trained, but does need house training and basic puppy training Vetting:  Will be spayed , up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm testing at 6 months Email for questions:    http://rocyokeefe@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. She’s great in the house! If the family isn’t home she would need to be crated so the better scenario would be someone who doesn’t work away from the home very long. She doesn’t like to be alone. The last home was an elderly lady who was always there. She’s the sweetest girl you could ask for!
