Seraphina has been through more than any dog should. She came to us after being confiscated by our humane agent, along with other dogs, who had been left abandoned in their crates. Because of this, the shelter environment has been especially overwhelming for her, and she’s still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. At first, Seraphina may be unsure and hesitant with new people—and that’s okay. She’s looking for a patient, understanding person or family who will give her the time and space she needs to feel secure. Building trust with Seraphina won’t happen overnight, but for someone willing to go at her pace, the reward is incredibly special. Once she begins to feel comfortable, Seraphina’s personality starts to shine. She has a playful, silly side that comes out with those she trusts, and it’s clear there’s a sweet, loving dog just waiting to bloom. She just needs someone to show her that people can be gentle, safe, and full of love. He also has a playful side. Devo loves running in the yard, going on walks, and chasing squirrels. He is happiest when he gets a good mix of activity and cozy downtime at home. Devo is house trained and knows basic commands like sit and lay down. He is up to date on all medical care, fully vaccinated, neutered, and in great health. Devo thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He can be a little nervous in new situations, but once he settles in, he is incredibly loving and easygoing. Because of this, he would do best as the only pet in the home where he can soak up all the attention. Devo does show some resource guarding behaviors around other dogs, particularly with food, so a single-pet household will help him feel most comfortable and set him up for success.
