Story
DUKE If you are up for adventure, then Duke is the dog for you! Duke is a stunning, dark yellow Lab, about 5 years old. He always has that big smile on his face! Duke is no couch potato. Duke loves to play fetch more than anything! He would love an owner who wants to go for hikes, play a good game of ball, maybe take a trip out to the lake. He is a good boy, but would not be an appropriate match for young kids or small dogs, due to his energy level. He will need a home with a fenced yard to play and potty. Duke loves to be with people and is happy to load up in the car for a ride with you. Duke seemed to be afraid of other dogs when he first came into our program. Now he has relaxed and met some nice dogs. He has no fear of them at all anymore. All he really wants is for his person to throw that ball! Duke came to us needing quite a bit of medical care. He is now healthy, with all veterinary care complete and ready to go! Duke is housebroken and does not chew up anything that is not his. If you live in DFW and have an active lifestyle, consider meeting Duke! Our adoption fee is $295. See our web site for information at www.LoneStarLabRescue.org

Story
SCOUT   We don't want to say that Scout is the perfect Lab... but Mom taught us not to lie!! Scout's foster mom says there is not one negative thing to say about Scout! He is happy, easy going and friendly. A total love bug, who enjoys hanging out with you, whatever you are doing.  Scout is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He is a medium sized Lab, at about 76 pounds, which is a good weight for him. He is crate trained and house broken. Scout is pretty calm and well behaved for such a young Lab. In the house, he loves to lay on the couch with you. Outside, he romps and plays chase with the other foster dogs in his home. He is only mildly curious about the dog-savvy cats in his foster home. They don't run and he doesn't chase or bother them. Scout is a big boy. He would love a couple of kids over the age of about 8 years to play with. He will need a nice sized, fenced yard for play time. We thought we had a perfect home for Scout and he went for a trial adoption. Unfortunately, he and the young male dog in the home did not get along very well after a few weeks. Just to be really safe, we are looking for a home with either no other dogs or only female dogs. Scout is very healthy, with bright eyes and a super shiny coat. Scout is neutered, on heartworm prevention, microchipped and vaccinated. If you live in the DFW area and are interested in adopting Scout, please see our web site for information about our adoption process. Our adoption fee is $295. www.LoneStarLabRescue.org

Story
SAGE (available for adoption) A very lucky little girl is ready for adoption!! Sage is a petite, silver Lab mix. She is about 53 lbs and 2 years old. Sage was so frightened at the local shelter and we just couldn't leave her there. Now Sage is blossoming in her foster home! Sage is a bit timid and will hold on to people that she trusts with both front feet. Once she has a chance to see that she is safe, she runs and does zoomies around the yard! Sage is more of a follower than a leader and gets pretty attached to women. We will be looking for a home with another medium to large dog for her to play with. She would probably love kids to play with. Sage is crate trained, house broken and healthy. She has been spayed, on heartworm prevention, has all of her vaccinations and is microchipped. If you live in the DFW area and are interested in adopting Sage, please see our web site for information www.LoneStarlabRescue.org

Story
DUCHESS 2023 Been feeling a little lonely? Wouldn't it be nice to have company EVERYWHERE you go... when you sit down to eat, when you get into bed, when you take a shower or go to the bathroom. With Duchess in your life, it is like leading a parade everywhere you go!! This adorable girl clearly knows that she is royalty. Duchess is a beautiful 6 year old girl, who just wants to be with you, wherever you are. Taking a shower? She will lay right against the tub until you are done. Are you cold at night? Duchess is right there, snuggled up to keep you warm. Duchess loves to cuddle next to her foster mom & dad on the bed at night. If you want a dog to sleep on the floor, then Duchess is definitely not the dog for you! Don't even try to adopt her, if sleeping on the bed is not permitted! Duchess is very people oriented, but loves to romp and play with other dogs, too. She ignores the cats in her foster home, unless they run. Then it is game on! Duchess is very well behaved in the house and is not crated. She insists on laying on the floor, at her dad's feet while he works. Duchess would love to live with someone who is home much of the day. A back yard for playing is required. We are working on 1 issue with Duchess. When she is sleeping and you touch her to wake her up, she gets startled and will grumble. She is getting better, but for this reason, we will not be placing her with kids Duchess is healthy, current on her vaccines, spayed and microchipped. She weighs about 72 pounds and could stand to lose a bit of weight. If you live in the DFW area and are interested in adopting Duchess, please complete our adoption application at www.LoneStarLabRescue.org Our adoption fee is $295.

Hi! My name is Lucky! I am a handsome goofy guy who is so happy to meet you! I feel so lucky to have caught your attention! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Rex is a sweetheart who loves to play fetch and lay in his bed. Rex knows commands of sit, shake, stay, lay and home (which means time to go inside and or just for him to go to his dog bed) Rex was a rescue a little over 2 years ago and could not of asked for a more loving, fun friendly animal. I have been forced to move do to work and my current address does not allow pets of his size. He is a very gentle 55lb and loves other dogs and has been the best friend of our 6 year old son. he is an inside dog and would like to have him rehomed with the same situation.

Needs experienced adopter,
Story
He is 11 months old. He absolutely loves physical touch and to be following you around constantly. He has been inside since he has lived with us with no accidents in the house and he will whine when he needs to go outside. He knows a few commands such as sit, lay down, drop it and heal but he is still a puppy with a short attention span so he will listen but get distracted. He is so lovable and full of energy. He really enjoys being outside and taking naps. He is very curious and loves to lick you. He is looking for a new home with space to run around and roll in the grass.

Story
My daughter's friend got a puppy without asking his mom if he could have one. She said he couldn't keep him. My daughter asked if Meka could just stay one night at my house and her friend would come the next day to take her back to where he got her from. Yeah, he never came back. Anyway, she is the cutest puppy. Super loving and friendly. She has the most adorable, stubby little legs and floppy ears. VERY CUTE. We would keep her but problem is we already have 3 dogs and no backyard. We've had her about a month. My daughter has been teaching her to sit on command and she actually does most of the time. Pretty impressive for such a young puppy. She is not completely potty trained she has accidents every now and then, but if you take her out, she does her business outside.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
He is 9 yrs old and is the biggest cuddle buddy. Very gentle velcro dog. He just wants to love and be loved back. He walks well according to my 80 yr old mother. Unfortunately, she cannot take care of him anymore due to her declining health. He would be great with an elderly couple or inactive person. He does not like crates, but loves his doggy beds. Heartworm NEG.
