Story
This sweet young boy - less than 2 yrs old based on what we can tell- was found on May 5 and tireless effort to get him into a rescue has proved unsuccessful. He’s been wonderful with our family, including all of our pets and kids. He’s looking for a home and family to call his very own and we couldn’t recommend him enough!

Story
Est DOB 10/10/2020 Current weight ~ 75 lbs Blind $350 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies and other vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, and heartworm and flea preventatives while the dog is in our care. Murdock is such a sweet boy. Unfortunately he was dealt a lousy hand early in his life. Murdock is blind, and when his owner no longer wanted him, he threw him out on the street. Not only that, but he also told neighbors to shoot poor Murdock if he “bothered them”. Luckily, Murdock had an angel on his side. A neighbor reached out to our rescue and one of our volunteers/fosters went to scoop him right up! Murdock may be blind, but he doesn’t let that get him down. Once he maps out your house, he will get around so we’ll that you will forget he is blind! He LOVES going on walks around the neighborhood and at the park. He knows “follow” and is learning other useful cues for walks. Murdock is a huge cuddle bug. He loves to be pet and loved on. He loves other dogs, but can play rough, so that’s something to keep in mind! He also cannot eat with other dogs. However, after his meal, he enjoys going into the yard with them! He does have crate anxiety and cannot be crated. He also does not like small spaces. In his foster home, he is given free roam. He IS house trained and is trusted not to do bad dog things while his foster mommy/daddy are at work! Murdock will require a special home who understands his disabilities and will work with him! Story
Looking for an easy dog that's well mannered, house and off leash trained, adores humans and is a master at relaxation? Meet Lady Bird. Lady Bird is happy, sweet, and a total cuddle bug. She’s house trained, respectful, and truly just a really good dog to have around. No chaos, just a calm, loving companion. She does have some crate anxiety, so if crated she’ll need something heavy duty but she’d much rather be with you. She also does best as an only female dog. She is: - great off leash - potty trained - okay being left home alone uncrated Knows: - sit - stay - down - shake - bed - crate - wait till you say okay to eat If you’re interested in adopting Lady Bird, please fill out an adoption application at www.htxdogrescue.org

Story
Meet Kass, a gorgeous 1 year, 10 month old black Lab mix with a heart as beautiful as her shiny coat. She is currently thriving in a foster home with five canine housemates who are helping her learn how to “dog.” She’s affectionate, gentle, eager to please, and absolutely loves being part of the pack. Whether it’s going for walks, playing with her foster siblings, riding in the car, or soaking up affection, Kass is happiest by your side. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and eager to keep learning. Everyone at the vet’s office fell in love with her sweet personality! Kass can be a little insecure at first, but her confidence is growing every day as she discovers the world around her — especially squirrels, which she’s very curious about. Kass has so much love, joy, and companionship to offer her future family. She is heartworm positive, but her treatment is fully covered by the rescue. Ready to give this beautiful girl the forever home she deserves? Apply to adopt Kass today at www.htxdogrescue.org.
