Story
Sierra is a shy girl when you first meet her. Once she warms up she is fun and playful and just can't stop wiggling! She will do best with another dog as they seem to make her feel more at ease, not to mention she loves to play. She has been around an 8 year old and showed no aggression but was nervous so we think she will do better with older children 10+. She is medium- high energy.  We don't know her back story but know she deserves the best future with lots of walks and love. Will you be the one to give that to her?  Apply at rockabullyaf.com  ##1150424##

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, chocolate colored girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Mocha is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
"Pick me! Pick me! I might just be the cutest Lab mix in the Lone Star State with my cute ears. My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas!" Shadow is about one-year-old, and he weighs 50 pounds. Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal (when it's not 100 degrees out, of course!) He gets along with most dogs, for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we're told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Of course, this isn't a guarantee he'd get along with all cats -- but the brave, dog-savvy kitties seem to have the upper hand. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime to exercise his own inner puppy. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mabel and her teddy bear. Mabel loves carrying around her teddy bear -- hoping one day she and her stuffed animal will find a loving family. Beautiful Mabel is about three-years-old and weighs 60 pounds. When she's not carrying around her toy, she can be found smiling for pictures. Look at that big grin. It's like she's posing. Mabel is clearly a ham. If you adopt her, at least someone in your family will happily pose for pictures. Mabel has a big personality and lots of energy. She does OK with other dogs but prefers not to be in a place she feels stuck behind a gate or crate when another dog is present. We'd recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog. We aren't exactly sure how she would do with a cat in her home. She's walked by some and has not really reacted. Mable would thrive doing more positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. We recommend a home with adults or adults and older teenage kids. She is housebroken, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Please help Mabel get a home! Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mr. Snuggle Muffins. Meet Mr. Snuggle Muffins - the wonderful dog that has everyone who meets him falling head over heels in love. Mr. Snuggles is a three year old, 75 pound beautiful black lab mix with a white marking. He is sweet and fun, and a really good companion. He was named Mr. Snuggles, as snuggles are his favorite thing and he is just a gem of a personality. Mr. Snuggles came to us with an injury to his ankle joint. He had surgery and is now doing well! Mr. Snuggle Muffins met several doctors throughout his journey, and they all could not stop raving about how much of a sweetheart this boy is! Snuggles won't make a good jogging or running companion for his new family, but he's still good to play with other dogs and his loved ones. He currently has an ankle brace during times of constant activity. We'd like his future adopters to follow up with their veterinarian (they can always consult the surgeon who did his surgery in Austin, too) for their advice on future use of the ankle brace. Exercises and physical therapy like swimming, underwater treadmill, low impact activities are great for any dog -- and could also benefit Snuggles in the long run. Mr. Snuggles is house broken, crate trained and highly food motivated. His favorite spot in the house is the couch, and he'd love to snuggle on it with you. Although he's not a fan of getting in the car, he does well on car rides and enjoys going on walks. Mr. Snuggles is a lovable and easy going dog. He gets along well with his older foster dog-brother and his human siblings aged 9 and 11. Mr. Snuggles would love to meet you and if you already have a dog, we'd like to arrange a meet and greet first before you bring Snuggles home to make sure all is well and they get along. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. If you're interested in giving Mr. Snuggles a loving new home, please apply at luckylabrescue.com.

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Bear. He is about three years old and 40 pounds. We saved Bear from a shelter after it was reported he was found watching over a litter of abandoned puppies. No one was sure if he was the puppy-daddy or where the mother dog was -- but Bear appeared to have adopted them all. Lucky Lab saved the puppies (they've gotten homes) and now it's Bear's turn to find his own family. Bear is a loving, lovable goofball who lives for pets and cuddles (and treats!) Bear is house trained and crate trained (but doesn’t need to be crated once he’s settled in). He loves his people and really wants to please. He doesn’t demand constant attention but will be right there at the slightest sign that you’re ready to give him some love. In his foster home, Bear has never chewed on anything that wasn’t a toy or a bone, doesn’t try to get on the furniture, and is generally pretty chill while at home. When he wants to play he grabs a toy and throws it around before settling down with it. He’s currently living with eight other dogs of all sizes in his foster home (his foster mom is a dog trainer) and has never had an issue with anyone, even the old cranky ones. He will push his way in when another dog is getting attention but he’s not aggressive to the other dog about it, just focused on getting some love from the person. Bear can get very excited meeting new dogs and people, but he’s learned not to jump on people; he just gets very close and sits almost on their feet hoping for some pets. He can also get pushy when meeting a new dog, which can be too much for some dogs, but he takes corrections well from other dogs and is learning to walk away after a quick initial greeting to keep things calm. He’s also made huge progress walking on a loose leash and has been able to refocus on his handler on his own when squirrels, cats and dogs cross his path. Bear needs the right structure and consistency to help him with his impulse control and excitement outside and with visitors, but it’s easy to do. His new person or family will need to continue his training to help him be his most successful self. He'd do best with an experienced adopter who has a home with a fenced in yard. Lucky Lab requires positive reinforcement/fear free training for all adopters and their new pooches. Bear would likely flourish with additional training. If you're in the Austin area you can continue working with his foster who is a trainer. If you're in another area we can help you find a trainer to set you on a path for success. Bear will add so much love and joy to your life with his happy, goofy nature. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
WHAT AN ATHLETE!  Estimated DOB 9/1/21, Weight ~ 65 lbs Howdy! My name is Jack!  I’m a very happy, wiggly, Black Labrador Retriever / Greyhound mix (best guess) with one erect and one floppy ear. I love all people, though sometimes I forget how big I am with kiddos. I LOVE to wrestle with other big dogs, go on hikes, splash in water, chew on all of my squeaky toys, and chase my tennis balls. I’m being fostered by an amazing foster mom who is helping me work on my manners. I’m smart and an eager learner so long as treats are involved. My big foster brother and I wrestle lots, but my small foster sister is too small to play with, so I’d do best in a home with large, energetic dogs like me. I also have a foster kitty brother, but he and I don’t get along too well. I like to chase him, and he doesn’t like to be chased.  Though I may have lots of energy, I love to take naps with my foster mom, go to the park and watch the birds, watch TV, and even go people watching! We do lots of hikes and long walks to help me work off my energy so an active home with prior dog owner experience would be best. My foster mom thinks I would make a great sport dog or hiking buddy for the right family.  A Good Samaritan found me wandering around a park with no ID tags or microchip and I’m so relieved I was accepted into the HOPE program. I’m anticipating my new home with a loving, caring family, a canine pal, and a yard where I can frolic to my heart’s content. Could that be with you? Story
THE BEST-EST BOY!  Estimated DOB 10/1/21, weight 59 lbs. Woof, Woof, everyone! I’m Buddy, a happy, friendly, patient, trusting Black Lab mix fella who loves to hang out indoors with my people-pack. I’ve been called a low-rider, but basically I’m a Black Lab mixed with something smaller, perhaps Terrier? (my back is knee-high on my foster mom). You’d be hard-pressed to find another dog who’s as gentle and well-socialized with people of all ages as I am – even when the vet pokes and prods me. Foster Mom says that I’m just the “best-est” boy all the way around! I get along great with other dogs and love playing with them. Interactive play with my foster mom as she tosses toys, sticks, and balls for me thrills my heart. When I’m thoroughly exhausted from playing outside, I’m content to snooze on my doggie bed. Let’s see – what else can I tell you about what a good boy I am? I’m smart, so I quickly learned “sit,” “down,” and “shake” as well as how to use the doggie door. I walk obediently on a leash, take treats gently, and am fine with baths. A Good Samaritan found me on a back road where I’d been abandoned by my owner. I was covered in mange, but thank heavens my foster mom took me in. My coat has grown back nicely (after many medicated baths!), so I’m now ready for my forever home. Considering what I’ve been through, I’m very resilient because I’ve responded so enthusiastically to the love that my foster mom has showered upon me. I’d love to spend the rest of my days in a comfy home surrounded by people who love me and will never abandon me again. I’d fit like a glove into a lot of households – including with kids and other dogs. Ideally an active family will adopt me and give me plenty of daily exercise – either by walking, jogging, or playing fetch in the back yard. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today! To see more pictures and videos of Buddy in his foster home and out-and-about town (he’s a very social dog, he likes going on lots of outings with his foster dad), please click on this link to his Flickr photo album, https://www.flickr.com/photos/72942520@N00/albums/72177720307907115  HOPE ID: D22-1015-0024 If you are interested in Buddy and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Story
Puppy Millie is a very sweet 6 months old puppy, who was found by one of our team members' son and daughter in law. The couple started taking care of her and can't stop gushing about her amazing temperament. Millie is a great pup for a first time pet owner. She loves to chill by your side, loves cuddles and will offer you unconditional love. She is still a puppy, so she will have puppy energy, and must be retrained to housebreak. She is great with all dogs and people, but even though she is not tested around cats, she is too sweet and calm and will be able to do good with cats if the adopter is patient with her, and slow introduce. Millie is current on vaccination, spayed, and microchipped, She is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Millie loves to be petted and is very intelligent. She is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada. Her adoption fee includes her transport fee from Texas. Yards, if any, must be fully and adequately fenced, to be considered for our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com so you could be approved to meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chats.

Story
Estimated DOB 3-1-2023, weight 35 lbs. Hi! My name is Mars!  I’m a small pup now but I’m just a puppy so I have some growing to do! My foster family says I am a great dog! I love to snuggle and give kisses to my people. When new human friends come over, I love to say Hi and I even give them kisses sometimes too!! I have human siblings that are something called teenagers and I love playing with them! Sometimes they let me sleep in their room at night and I loooove snuggling them.  I have two big (70lb) dog brothers I play with. We play chase, wrestle mania, and tug-of-war! It’s fun, but makes me so tired. Sometimes I don’t listen to them well, and they have to correct me, but I am learning so much from them on how to be a good boy and play nice.  We have these weird things in the house called cats. They were very scary at first and I would run away from them screaming, but it’s better now. I play with the smaller one, but the bigger one can still be very scary! When he tells me to settle down and lay down, I try to listen! I am a good boy who potties outside most of the time, but I’m still working on telling people when I need to potty. I’ve learned a few tricks and am very smart!! I especially love going on walkies on my leash!!  Will you be my fur-ever family? Story
Pixel came to our shelter when she was found on the side of the road with her sister. They had both been injured, we believe they were hit by a car. Unfortunately, her sister did not make it.  Pixel is understandably reserved when meeting new people and she can be slow to trust. When she does trust she does it with her whole heart. She gets along well with other dogs and we would love to find a patient home that is willing to give her time  to relax and become the amazing dog she is.
