Story
Meet Oliver or as we call him, Ollie! Ollie’s journey hasn’t been easy. When he was first rescued, he was nearly hairless and suffering from painful, mange ridden skin (see last photo). He had been on the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter. A volunteer and a foster fell in love with him, a rescue said yes, and hence started Ollie’s healing journey. Fast forward a few months, he is a handsome, happy, and full of life boy! Most of his fur has grown back beautifully, though he still has a bald patch around his neck and shoulders that may never fully regrow. But honestly, It just adds to his charm. His glow-up is truly something special. Ollie is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. His fosters call him their “golden child” because he’s just about perfect. Ollie is fantastic with every person he meets, including kids, and he absolutely adores other dogs. Ollie is both potty trained and kennel trained. He loves playing with other dogs, chewing on toys, going on walks, car rides, and just chilling. His foster family absolutely adores him, and watching him blossom has been nothing short of heartwarming. Ollie does need weekly baths to keep his skin healthy but they are quick and easy, and he is very cooperative. He is estimated to be around 6-7 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. If you think Ollie is your next best friend apply today: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog Ollie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available in many cities around the country. The adoption fee includes the cost of transport.

Story
Lola has quickly become accustomed to being inside her new foster home. She loves rolling on her back in the backyard, playing tug-of-war with her new toys, and of course sleeping in her own bed for the first time. She`s learning plenty of new tricks as well as how to walk on a leash through the neighborhood. All of her neighbors adore her friendly and playful personality. She`s become the popular girl of the neighborhood. If you are interested in adopting please sent an email to Barcfoster@houstontx.gov today!

Story
Meet Ginny, Ginny is a 2 year old, 30 pound Golden Retriever mix!  She came to us from a shelter and was an owner surrender with a euthanasia request.  She spent much of her life outside, and it shows in the way she trembles when a human reaches for her.  This sweet girl is very timid & shy with humans. She has never truly known safety!  We do think she was abused, not just neglected.  Despite everything she has been through, Ginney is incredibly gentle.  She is a very sweet girl who just needs someone to show her love.  There is zero aggression in her heart - only fear and a deep longing to feel safe.  Ginny will absolutely need another confident, kind dog in her future home to help guide her and sow her that the world doesn't have to be scary. Ginny's forever family will need patience, compassion and very big hearts. She deserves to finally learn what it feels like to be loved, protected and home.  Getting her into a loving environment as soon as possible will truly help her confidence continue to grow! Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet girl. Visit www.scoutshonor.org to learn more about Ginny!January 19, 2026, 6:15 pm
