Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, black and white girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Mocha is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mabel and her teddy bear. Mabel loves carrying around her teddy bear -- hoping one day she and her stuffed animal will find a loving family. Beautiful Mabel is about three-years-old and weighs 60 pounds. When she's not carrying around her toy, she can be found smiling for pictures. Look at that big grin. It's like she's posing. Mabel is clearly a ham. If you adopt her, at least someone in your family will happily pose for pictures. Mabel has a big personality and lots of energy. She does OK with other dogs but prefers not to be in a place she feels stuck behind a gate or crate when another dog is present. We'd recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog. We aren't exactly sure how she would do with a cat in her home. She's walked by some and has not really reacted. Mable would thrive doing more positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. We recommend a home with adults or adults and older teenage kids. She is housebroken, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Please help Mabel get a home! Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Available for Adoption in Texas and New England - Meet Brooks! The last of 14 puppies born, Brooks now acts like the leader of the pack! She is a spunky pup who loves playtime, but turns into a cuddle bug once the fun is done! She is an aspiring professional model, posing perfectly for the camera. Just look at that dazzling dappled face! She weighs 20 lbs at 12 weeks old, but will most likely be on the larger size when fully grown. Brooks walks right up when being called for pets, and leans into her people's hands and legs. She soaks up every ounce of attention and it is clear she's going to be a lover girl as she grows! Brooks is food and toy motivated, and is such a smart cookie. She learned how to sit in less than 5 minutes and can perform her trick with pretty high reliability! If you're ready for a fun addition to your family - Brooks just might be the one! The perfect home for Brooks would be one who can provide the care and attention she needs to grow into a happy and healthy pup! We are searching for a patient and understanding adopter, who is willing to invest time in training, show her all of the ropes, and help her become the best life long friend! Brooks will be age appropriately vaccinated and microchipped before going home. Apply to adopt Brooks now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Hercules. This gorgeous boy is about two years old and weighs just under 60 pounds. Lucky Lab got a message from a shelter asking us to save Hercules and his sister. The two were surrendered to the shelter after they kept jumping over the fence in their prior home and kept heading over to the local senior center in town. We're pretty sure they were a big hit at the senior center, but their prior pet parent wasn't too happy with them. This is what Hercules' foster mom tells us about this black beauty: Hercules is as close to the perfect dog as you will ever meet. He is very laid back but is also ready for an adventure such as a road trip or hike or hang out on the patio of your favorite restaurant. He is gentle and easygoing and loves attention. With soulful brown eyes and an adorable underbite, Hercules is a charmer. He is lanky. While in his foster home Hercules seems to love people and has been good with kids, but hasn't lived with kids in his foster home. He gets along with other dogs, loves to go for walks and hikes, and will chill on his bed or curled up next to you on the couch. He is kennel trained and sleeps in his kennel through the night. He does well in his kennel when left alone and loves hanging out in the backyard soaking up the sun when you are home. He is very food driven and wants to please so is easy to train. He knows some basic commands like sit, shake, and kennel. He has just about mastered being housebroken, does well with a schedule, and is learning to alert his person by whimpering when he needs to go outside. He rarely barks, takes cues from his person when it is time to rest and relax, but is ready to go when you are. Just pick up the leash, and he will sit and wait for you to attach it and head out. He is always up for an adventure. Everyone who has met him says he is the best dog. Hercules would do well in a home with a canine sibling who is playful but not aggressive but would be perfectly happy with only humans. He craves and loves being pet and would do well in a home where someone is there most of the day and will take him for walks, hikes, road trips, play dates with other dogs, to restaurants, and pretty much anywhere dogs are allowed. He easily assimilates into social situations. Hercules is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. **Note in his prior home he was a fence jumper. So if an adopter has a fence you need to be aware of this and have a high fence or always keep an eye on him.

Story
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Kashew. Meet Kash, the cutest puppy ever! Cash is about nine months old and weighs over 53 pounds so far, he's still filling out and growing. His hobbies include sniffing the air, hunting bugs, and watching airplanes go by. He loves playing fetch and gets better and better at bringing the ball back every day. He loves being outside and chewing on his chew toys. High-fives are his signature move. Cash is a medium-energy puppy who is down to play or relax, whichever the situation calls for. He’s learning how to walk on a leash and really loves being out and about walking, and it’s easy for him to learn. Kash can learn any trick, especially if there are treats involved. He has been living with a 12-year-old and 9-year-old human foster brothers and has been spotted enjoying their trampoline. He regularly goes to the bathroom outside, but he has to be let out frequently since he’s still working on giving the signal to go potty. He’s a great sleeper and sleeps all night long in his crate with the door open. When his foster family is out, he stays in his crate with a chew toy. Kash cannot wait to give his new family a high-five! Kash is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and crate-trained. If you would like to make sweet Kash a part of your family, apply at luckylabrescue.com
