Please help find a forever home for Buddy. He is about 9 years old. His owner died and he was left in the backyard and garage for months with people throwing him food. He is on the mend. Finder has taken him to the vet and treated him for worms, skin etc.and had a senior panel done and his bloodwork came out fine. He just wants to be near you and sleeps on his bed next to you. Please consider fostering him or keeping him. He is very sweet.

Story
Meet Little Bit Little Bit What a mess! Are you looking for a dog who always wants to be near you? Do you want a dog who LOVES car rides and walking through the woods or just down the street? Want somebody to follow you into the bathroom and guard your feet while you do your business? Well…meet Little Bit (LB for short). She is approximately 16 months old but one look into those deep, sweet, expressive eyes anyone can tell she has a very old soul. Little Bit had a rough start to life – hit (or thrown from – there is still some debate) by a car and left in a field off the freeway, Little Bit had a long, hard fight to survive along with several months of PT just to walk again. She’s still a little stiff in the backend sometimes (especially when she first wakes up in the morning), but you couldn’t tell it watching her chasing her big brother (Goose) around the yard like the big dog she is in her heart. Because of all her injuries (more stitches than dog when she came into foster care, hence the name: she was a little bit of dog with a whole lot of hurt), her basic training has been delayed but she is trainable (it might just take a little longer than most dogs – food motivation and shear repetition are her friends) and such a sweet little wiggle worm diva. She can be your very best companion while at the same time being your biggest nuisance: she has that skill. She gets along with everyone (never met a stranger), flittering around to make sure everyone in the house knows she’s there and requiring full attention, but will still bark when she hears something outside that just doesn’t sound right. Fully vaccinated, spayed, housebroken (once you learn her signals – she will literally climb on top of someone to let them know she has to go out), and a mild case of heartworms (currently in treatment), Little Bit is ready to move on to a family who will love her and cherish her for the little princess that she believes herself to be! Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Since they are rescue dogs we guess breed of looks. Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our adoption fee covers dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped as well as spay/neuter at our preapproved vets. All puppies not altered due to age will under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon completion of surgery. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable. Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE HAVE NO BRICK AND MORTAR LOCATION-- WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE, ALL DOGS ARE IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES. If we if we think your home might be a good fit, we will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application. We do check references, use social media, been verified, do phone interview/emails, and home check will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

Story
The Way Back: Tessa's Story Gulf Coast Tiny Paws Rescue Tessa's way back began in Oct.2021. Her cruelty case worked its way through the court system and an area shelter was awarded custody of the three-year-old lab mix and her four puppies. It was evident Tessa's rehabilitation could not be done in a shelter environment. GCTPR was contacted and agreed to take Tessa into their rescue. Seasoned dog foster Stacy willingly took Tessa and the puppies into her home to begin to help the little family. When she first arrived in her foster home, Tessa was so frightened she wouldn't even sit when Stacy was nearby. It took Tessa four months to gather enough courage to venture out of the room in which she and her pups were fostered. But good things began happening along the way. She became a playful friend to the family's resident dogs, even sleeping with them! At times Tessa shows a bit of a silly side, showing a newfound confidence. Tessa loves to chase butterflies and geckos in the backyard. Tessa is potty trained, learning to walk using a Gentle Leader head harness, and has learned to stop barking on command! She is food motivated which is useful in many training situations. Learning house rules through the use of positive reinforcement has shown Tessa can learn and her confidence grows as she catches on to each new lesson. Not unexpectantly, it takes time for Tessa to warm up to strangers. Tessa will need an experienced adopter. She needs someone who understands training using only positive reinforcement techniques. Tessa also needs someone who is consistent and kind in their behavior towards Tessa and their handling of her. Tessa has made great strides finding her way back. Can you commit to helping Tessa into a home of her own with you/your family as her loving, trusted people? #adopttessa If you are interested in adopting Tessa, go to www.gulfcoasttinypawsrescue.org. FOCUS Listing Notes: Length of Stay: More than 6 months Physical or Mental Health Concerns: Kennel Stress; Fear Possible Barriers to Adoption: Requires Slow Introductions to Strangers; Kennel Presentation --- Hey there, future fam! Buster Brown here, the five-year-old heartthrob with a certificate that says I'm heartworm negative. Yeah, I'm healthy and ready to rock your world with my charming, laid-back vibes. So, let me lay it out for you. I had to get to know you a bit because, well, I'm a discerning dog with standards, and I'm looking for the perfect match. But once we hit it off, get ready for the best dog-human bromance of your life! Now, let's talk treats. Treats are life. Seriously, show me a snack, and I'll show you the dance of my people. And walks? Sure, I'll accompany you on a stroll, but don't expect me to set any speed records. I'm more of a leisurely walker, you know, taking in the sights and sniffing all the fascinating scents. In my kennel, I might not be the best showman. It's like trying to judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree - it's just not my thing. But, here's the deal: let the fantastic shelter staff work their magic, get me out, and I'll shine like a diamond in the ruff. You'll see what a sweet, goofy guy I truly am. Now, toys are my jam, especially the stuffed animal variety. Hand me a plushie, and I'll show you how to properly snuggle. And belly rubs? Oh, please. I'm a belly rub connoisseur. Scratch that belly, and you'll have a friend for life. I'm always happy to see the staff and volunteers. They're like my entourage, and I'm the star of the show. Picture it: me, basking in the adoration, ready to bring joy and laughter into your life. Now, I may not have the energy of a caffeinated squirrel, but that's just more love to give in a calm, cool demeanor. Looking for a companion to binge-watch your favorite shows? I'm your guy. Need a co-pilot for lazy Sunday afternoons? Look no further. So, what do you say? Swing by the shelter, ask for Buster Brown, and let's embark on this laid-back adventure together. I promise, with me by your side, life will be a little funnier, a bit cozier, and a whole lot more awesome. Woof's honor!
