Est DOB 10/10/2020 Current weight ~ 75 lbs Blind $350 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies and other vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, and heartworm and flea preventatives while the dog is in our care. Murdock is such a sweet boy. Unfortunately he was dealt a lousy hand early in his life. Murdock is blind, and when his owner no longer wanted him, he threw him out on the street. Not only that, but he also told neighbors to shoot poor Murdock if he “bothered them”. Luckily, Murdock had an angel on his side. A neighbor reached out to our rescue and one of our volunteers/fosters went to scoop him right up! Murdock may be blind, but he doesn’t let that get him down. Once he maps out your house, he will get around so we’ll that you will forget he is blind! He LOVES going on walks around the neighborhood and at the park. He knows “follow” and is learning other useful cues for walks. Murdock is a huge cuddle bug. He loves to be pet and loved on. He loves other dogs, but can play rough, so that’s something to keep in mind! He also cannot eat with other dogs. However, after his meal, he enjoys going into the yard with them! He does have crate anxiety and cannot be crated. He also does not like small spaces. In his foster home, he is given free roam. He IS house trained and is trusted not to do bad dog things while his foster mommy/daddy are at work! Murdock will require a special home who understands his disabilities and will work with him! Story
❤️ Meet Lady Bird ❤️ Some dogs want excitement. Lady Bird just wants you. After spending the last nine years with the family she thought would be forever, Lady Bird is looking for one more place to call home. She's not looking for anything fancy. A comfy couch. A leisurely walk. A cozy spot beside you while you watch TV. And someone to love with her whole heart. Lady Bird is a petite Lab mix with the sweetest soul you'll ever meet. She's house-trained, respectful, and the kind of dog who makes life feel just a little more peaceful. She isn't interested in causing chaos—she simply wants to be part of your family. Everyone who met Lady Bird during her transport back to Texas said the same thing: "She is such a sweet dog." And they're right. She's the kind of companion who quietly fits into your life as if she's always belonged there. Lady Bird gets along well with other dogs, enjoys being close to her people, and would happily spend her days soaking up belly rubs and afternoon naps. She does experience some crate anxiety, so she'd much rather be with you than behind a crate door. Her previous family welcomed a new baby, and despite every effort, Lady Bird struggled to adjust to the changes. It wasn't because she wasn't a good dog. Sometimes life changes, and through no fault of their own, wonderful dogs find themselves searching for a new beginning. Now she's hoping someone will give her the second chance she deserves. Lady Bird is spayed, house-trained, fully vaccinated, and ready to spend her golden years loving someone who will love her right back. If you've been searching for a calm, loyal best friend instead of a whirlwind of puppy energy... Lady Bird has been waiting for you. ❤️ If you’re interested in adopting Lady Bird, please fill out an adoption application at www.htxdogrescue.org
