Story
Daysi is seven years old, spayed, approximately 65 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, healthy and has a great deal of love to offer. She has the beautiful characteristics of a Labrador Retriever mix. Our dynamic Miss Daysi is a survivor. Her history includes living on the streets of Mexico. She was either born as a stray or abandoned by owners. For two years, she had to fend for herself and determine who and what was safe. Thankfully, a caring woman rescued Daysi five years ago from Mexico. Sadly, this adopter has passed away and this sweet girl is now looking for a dedicated household where she would be the only pet. She spent most of her life in a home with an elderly woman who had live-in nurses, with different people coming and going constantly. She’s truly developed some wonderful hostess skills. Daysi is WONDERFUL with people and does not bark at visitors. She is very comfortable with a lot of guests coming over and is polite and gentle. She is low key at home and does not ask for attention (great for someone working from home). Kids who are dog savvy tend to add joy to Daysi’s life. Children seven and older will gravitate towards her sweetness. It’s important that the children have dog experience, know how to approach a dog and be kind. She has no known experience with cats. Daysi LOVES to be outside. A securely fenced yard will be essential. She needs someone who can take her for leashed walks -- she can be reactive around other dogs so off-leash dog parks are not an option for her. She is usually easy to walk on the leash, but occasionally she pulls if she is set off by another dog. She needs someone who has the physical strength and patience to work with her. She is truly a joy to have in the house and anyone would be lucky to have this sweetheart join their family. Quality time with her humans, responsible leashed walks, being the only dog and the benefits of an experienced dog owner will be key to Daysi’s next loving home. There is no doubt about her natural desire to be a loving companion. If you are interested in Daysi, please copy/paste the link below into your internet browser to fill out our application: http://form.jotform.us/form/50488470409157 or email Ellen at ellen.second.chance@gmail.com for questions and additional info. Story
Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable girl. She is affectionate and playful. Juniper loves to play ball, fetch and hang out with you or play in the yard. She is affectionate and loves to give kisses. Juniper is a bit shy, but she will warm up quickly and she is darling and playful. She is so eager to please. Juniper will need a home with a fenced yard. Juniper found herself as a young pup in a shelter in California. She was adopted and then dumped at a shelter after she was hit by a car. Juniper was fortunately rescued by Greyhound Pets in Woodinville even though she’s definitely NOT a greyhound mix. Juniper is beyond darling and is so deserving of a true forever home. She has a slight head tilt (adorable) and has some hip dysplasia but now she is absolutely happy and playful. Juniper is a gentle, sweet soul and has a coat like a Labrador or short coated Golden Retriever. And while her "greyhound" roots are not to be found, she is an adorable member of our GPI family and we can't wait to find this darling girl her forever home. Please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com for an application and any questions.

Story
Hector was found wandering the streets of Tonala, Mexico with a wounded leg. Once rescued by our group, he received veterinary care and fortunately he had no complications and his wound healed 100%. He is a very calm, somewhat submissive dog and generally very shy in the beginning, bot with people and other dogs. He warms up to you and starts slowly gaining confidence with patience and reassurance. He would very much enjoy being around people that can guide him.and teach him how to be a dog and build his confidence while socializing him.

Story
Winona is yet another dog saved from the overcrowded shelter in Guadalajara, Mexico, housing 350+ dogs. Winona's health condition was precarious, to say the least. She had been missing for at least 3 days, and when she was found backed in a corner being attacked by other dogs at the shelter, her left front leg had already been severely injured. Although her medical team did all they could to save her leg, it ultimately had to be amputated. She was already showing signs of sepsis, and the bone was also compromised beyond repair. After her surgical recovery, she had to deal with extreme weight loss and anemia, plus relearning to walk, now as a tripod. She was very sad and would hardly eat for several weeks... But, she was surrounded by love and had so many people rooting for her... Finally, she made amazing progress and started showing everyone around who she truly is. She is now healthy and waiting to see what her future will bring...

Story
Leo was rescued as a stray in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is still in Mexico under the care of our sister rescue until he gets adopted in the PNW. Leo is an amazing lab, goofy, fun, active and allá round adorable. He gets along well with other dogs and children. He enjoys being active and is quite playful, but can also settle and cuddle if that is your preference. He would do best in a home with an active family that has time to offer him and is willing to take him places to explore. He is still learning to walk better on leash. He tolerates well his crate for short periods and is not housebroken. He is a smart boy and will respond to your cues quite easily. Patience and consistency are key for any dog and especially for labs! If interested, send us an application and make sure you answer all questions thoroughly. Thank you!

Auburn, WA
Size

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Martina was found wandering the streets of a small town in Guadalajara, Mexico with her friend Wally. They were both taken to the pound where some friends that run a rescue locally helped them to avoid them being euthanized. Martina has been waiting for a home for more than a year. She is an incredible lab and would be the best addition to any lab lovers family. She is a typical lab, energetic, friendly, loves to fetch, swim, hike and explore. She settles nicely after exercise and fun, being a champ cuddles too. She loves bananas and bones! She would thrive with an outdoorsy family with the time and commitment for Martina. Ideally, someone working or staying at home and going on weekend adventures. She will do fine as a single dog or with other dogs, since she enjoys to play with them!
