Lola was my grandmother's dog from the time she was a puppy until my grandmother passed away. Lola came to me after and I have taken care of her since. Well now I am moving and there is a pet limit in the new house, I already have 2 pets of my own and they have to come first. Lola will be 10 years old on 11/11/25 and she does well with dogs, cats and kids. She LOVES affection whether it's playing or just hanging around the house, she will just go with the vibe. She is house trained, crate trained and does great with the groomer. When my grandmother adopted her, they said she was a Malti-Poo and she weighs around 25 lbs. I really want her to find a home and family that will care for and love her for the rest of her life!

I've had Sugar for 11 years and this is a hard decision for me to make to rehome her. She is a gentle dog and loves to be close to you. Sitting on the couch together is one of her favorite past times. Unfortunately she has separation anxiety and needs more attention than I can give her. I am retired but still very active and I'm gone anywhere from 3 to 5 days a week and this is a stress factor for her. Ready to give an old girl like me a chance? Here's how to meet me: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
