Heathcliff is a 1–2-year-old 9-pound neutered male Maltese/Havanese mix. Neutered, current on all vaccines, heart worm negative, microchipped crate trained and working on house training. Heathcliff is still learning about the world and will need a family that understands the time, patience and commitment that comes with a young adult dog. This will include potty training, learning basic commands, regular exercise, and lots of play time in a backyard with a secure wooden fence. Heathcliff is very curious and likes toys so make sure you have lots of toys to help him grow into a well manner adult dog. Heathcliff would do best with a dog his size, age and energy level. He loves to play. His breed will need regular grooming. He is an escape artist, and we need to be monitor closely when doors open and close. Heathcliff is a barker when playing and when left alone so an apartment lifestyle is not ideal for him. If you are ready to welcome this sweet boy into your home and help him grow into the best dog, he can be, he would love to meet you. Keke is a very special girl. She will do well in a home with a medium sized family or one single peson that does not mind her clingyness. She is not house-trained so she will need to either be trained or be taken outside at LEAST twice a day. For this reason, I highly recommend someone who is active or outdoorsy. Our walks can range from 5 minutes to an hour. She doesn't really like the rain when the grass is wet however if she has to go she will. When I first got Keke from the shelter, I was lucky in the sense that she could eat almost anything; however, nowadays she is a little more picky, especially if she smells or sees a better option. I homemake her own food using pasta noodles, ground turkey, chicken hearts, veggies, and supplements; however, she also really enjoys the Just Food for Dogs BOXED food. She will eat dry food as a LAST resource and doesn't really like any of the store brand wet foods (to my knowledge). Would be great with a family/person with one other SMALL dog.
