All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. Meet Clover who is a six year old Maltese. Someone dumped him under a slab of concrete at an elementary school in Dallas. His claws were overgrown and he was in bad shape. He was super scared of people. He is super bonded to his owners but Clover does not do well with children or other dogs. He is very loved and this is super hard on the family. . He’s very loving toward them.. He resourse guards the Mom and doesn't want the child around her Mom. . He is in excellent health and sure is adorable! He just had a check up and full blood work panel due to having a sentive stomach. He does require good quality dog food, and doesn’t eat much. He’s potty trained, and extremely loving but will take love and patience for him to get to know you and trust you. He weighs 13 lbs. I get along with other dogs, but I do want to make sure I've got your full attention!!! My dental care was basically nonexistent, so I had to have all my teeth pulled. Ready to give an old girl like me a chance? Here's how to meet me: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
